Yikes Some People Don't Get The Hint

Okay have a question for you folks. Do you ever get a friend request, check their profile and realize they have never answered a single discussion of yours? When I get this I usually refuse UNLESS maybe they have common interests. Okay if they haven't responded to any of my discussions or I just can't relate to the person, I will deny them.. BUT.... Then I get the repeat requesters. The same people I've denied as a friend before, but keep asking me as a friend at least five times already. I had this happen just now....Like duh? What is with some people here? I'm sorry, but when I especially notice a person's profile decorated with hundreds of make money banners that sends alarms to me that the person is only a friend collector and wants to spam me with their money making schemes. NO THANK YOU I've actually had this happen to me before. So do any of you have REPEAT friend requesters...the same ones asking to be your friend over and over, and over again and have never responded to your discussions? Do you give up and accept them eventually? Or do you keep denying them?

I guess I'm lucky that I have never been spammed. I don't deny friend request because I really don't get that many at all!..LOL.... If I flash some skin then I should get more request huh?..lol.. Having a sexy cat posing as a avatar isn't enough to get friends here! hehe.. I had money making banners on my page but took them down because people just ignore them anyhow..

I have had a few. They request again as soon as you deny. I have one that requested so many times, that I just leave them pending.

I've had a few of them. Now if I'm not sure if I want to add someone or not or if they've got a bunch of adds on their profile I'll just leave them in request limbo. I check back in on them every so often to see if they're worthy to be on my friends list but right now there are still 27 of them in limbo. If your one of them & your reading this

I am becoming less and less liable to add new friends, as I seem to see a lot of profiles with money making schemes bannered across them. I won't add people like that. All they do is continue to spam me, despite warnings that I don't like that sort of thing. Then its promptly delete, delete, delete. I like the friends I have and they keep me busy enough.

I get this kind of annoyance at another site as well where users plague my inbox with spamming kind of messages despite I have a clear warning NOT to spam me..like yeesh...and they still do it anyway. I spend most of my time on that other site just deleting all those spam-type messages to me

I absolutely hate getting spammed.. if I were here for the money I suppose I might be interested in their spam but I am here to just hang out, unwind and have fun with my friends and keep my mind busy.. no other reason... I'm an idiot though.. I accept everyone as my friend.. if they never answer a single discussion.. I don't care .. it just means they are gonna be quiet while I have all the fun :)

yeah i've been getting quite a few requests lately from people i've never heard of or seen before......some repeat offenders. here's my observation on the whole thing: most are from the same country...........i don't want to single any one country out but it rhymes with "SPINDIA" most of their profile pages are heavily loaded with discussions from the "make money" interest. most have only been here a short time, some only a few days, but they already have over 100 friends.........tells me their headhunting for friends to respond to their "money making" discussions. so my theory is somebody from their group wrote an article or something telling them they can make more money on myLot by having lots of friends. i just keep denying them..............THAT'S RIGHT!!! if one of you is reading this!!! He might take the mower if you put some chrome on it, some ground effects & turned the tailpipes where the fire shoots upwards. He'd be into that.

I am responding to say that I have sent you a friend request:P I get the odd friend request, they get accepted normally. The only time I will not accept is if it is blatant they will only try and spam me with get rich quick programs. It does not bother me if they are just being friend collectors, I have no time to look deep into something that I personally find trivial.

Hi Pye, No, I don't have repeat request, but I have had the "oh be my friend" and as soon as you accept they hit you up to join a program. I then delete that person, that is not why I am here. I am here to read and put my 2 cents in whenever I feel like it, which hasn't been a lot lately. But, I try. As far as a person answering my discussions..lol..oh, I would have to delete a lot of people or not accept most if I only had those particular friends. I don't start a lot of discussions anyhow, I would rather reply.

I have not experience people coming to request for my friendship whom I have rejected earlier. But I have got someone whom I have deleted from my friends list after a friend told me that he is a suspected troll only to come back the next day to request for friends again. I readmitted him but he is good for nothing as he never response to any of my post. Thought of deleting him again. I don't see any purpose of keeping people like that.

I accept them. It could be that they are new or younger or whatever. They found me interesting for some reason. I don't get any reapeat requesters and I don't have this problem. This site is great and I don't think having friends who may or may not answer my discussions is a problem. People have their own opinions and maybe the subjects certain ones come up with are not of interest.

I've only had a couple, one of whom fell into the "moneymaker" class, and one who fell into the "why on earth is this person asking me to be his friend" category, and both gave up after two refusals. To be totally accurate, the last one actually withdrew his second request after it had been sitting there for two weeks. As to why they do it, who knows? Lash

I haven't denied any friends' requests but I haven't approved them all either. I currently have a couple that are still pending, one from a MyLotter that has not started or responded to any discussions; all her activity entails adding friends and of course she has a money making site listed on her profile. I have been waiting to see if she is going to contribute to the site but so far, nothing. Another has one response only and that is it as far his activity goes. I hate refusing requests and if I leave them pending at least they can't keep on approaching me!

there are a few that just dont seem to get it after the third time of denying them I usually accept them long enough to send them a message telling them to leave me the heck alone then I delete them again if they request again after that I just leave them pending so that they cant request again

When it comes to friend requests, no means never. I don't usually look at their profiles, I check and see if I can respond to any of their posts. If I fine that I can respond to about three or four, then I accept them. If I can't then I deny them. I have only one or two times where i deny a person and they asked again. And I have onlt had one "friend" spam me and I deleted them right away.

Not on mylot because I pretty much accept anyone here, but I have had on gather. You would think some people would figure out that you don't want to be associated with them.

gather.com. Its another site sorta like mylot. You can start discussions, post pictures, join groups, sorta like facebook or myspace. They give you points for participating in things and you can trade the points for money or for giftcards.

I have a bunch of friend requests, that I have no idea who they are. I don't even think they have responded to any of my discussions before. I hardly ask anyone to be my friend on here, but always have others asking me. It's pretty strange! haven't had to have any repeat offenders though, maybe because I usually approve them right away.

Yeah, I did have those kind of friend requests. They don't even responded or commented on your post but they are requesting you as a friend. Even though that I receive those kind of requests I still accept their requests. I don't mind if they keep on sending me messages I'll just keep on deleting them.lol

I can see where that gets annoying. I get the requests but then let them sit there for a while. If they aren't active or if it's a series of one liners, I delete and move on. I think a large part of some of the requests come because of the number of posts you've had. Lets face it, you've been here a while so they think they can buildt their friend network off a long timer. I read profiles too and if I see a lot of the junk on there, I question it. There are those that have a lot of referrals on their profiles but post decent and if I share interests then I accept. Doesn't happen too often, but still getting to know people here. As for the repeat requests - I wonder if they even know they've requested it several times. I don't know, but it would get annoying to say the least.
