I'm so excited, and also very busy! This weekend is my daughters first birthday party! I think I have everything covered. Snacks, cake, theme, games, drinks...etc. I'm really hoping I can pull this party off!! I'm looking for some great stories from others 1st birthday parties and some advice as well as what to watch out for! Thanks for the help! Happy Mylotting :)

why do we as parents have first birthday parties, certainly the child wont remember it. i know, i had parties for both girls (only family was invited) but i think that some people tend to go a little overboard. best of luck.

i know i have def. gone a little overboard. I think it's a fun time for her and even if she doesnt remember it, i will have the pictures/videos from the day to show her.

I have had birthdays every year for my kids and now they are 20, 17, 15 and 8. The first birthdays are just as important as their 16th. For all of the birthdays from the 1st to the 20th, I invite the whole family. Everyone brings a dish to pass and we have appetizers and cake. There are usually 20 or so people here to celebrate my children. Just remember to have the camera ready to go for lots of memories.
