One day, If we wake up and find that our website isn’t showing anymore in Google, we have been a victim of a Google Ban. This is the worst thing that can happen to our website, especially if we are running a business through our site. Several factors can trigger a Google Ban. Here is a list of ways we can keep our website on Google’s good side. 1. To Make sure that we have the best uptime possible for our website. This means we must have reliable web hosting. If Google visits our website and it is not up, we may risk Google banning in our site. 2. We must not use spamming techniques to promote our website. This will almost definitely lead to condemnation of our website for at least 6 months. We must never use “black hat” methods like doorways, hidden text or cloaking. We are the only setting ourself up for disaster. 3. We must make sure that our content is original and relevant. Websites that duplicate content are punished with lower rankings and even bans. Our content should always be made for human consumption and relate to our website’s theme. 4. Linking is a two way street. Not only should the links going out of our website be quality, but be certain that the links that lead to our website are from Google respected locations as well. We must avoid link farms and any paid linking services. Also, excessive linking is a red flag for Google. When we add internal links on our own sites, we must make sure that we do it in moderation and with purposeful intent. 5. We must be sure that our site is Google friendly. We must build our website so that Google is able to index every page. Include a sitemap. Be sure that all pages are working and that there are no broken links. If we follow the Google “Tips for Optimizing” it will be fine. we must never try to fool Google with tricky tactics. The price we receive is far worse than the effort it takes to do things the right way! For a complete list of google related articles, I suggest anyone to go vodahost.com/vodatalk/google.html Thats all here guys... Have a nice time everybody!

Yes, I have had my site removed from the index twice and had to re-apply and wait a few days to get back. The site traffic went down 80%! The trouble was hidden text that was used in constructing the page. I thought it was cleaned up but three pages out of 225 still had it and caused the ban. At least the last time they said what was wrong on one page and so was easier to find the problem. The first time they just said there was a problem and gave no hint what it was so it took me a long time to find the problem.

Mine has never been banned, but it hasn't made any money either. I think your tips for optimizing will help me to reach that point and to avoid getting banned. Thanks for the tips.
