Or do you prefer to save those and spend the more crumpled dollar bills you have .The reason I am asking this question is that a young lady was asking me to buy something for her but then when she looked at her crisp dollar bills she asked me if I had any older dollar bills that I could use so she could save her crisp dollar bills . For me it doesnt matter as long as it is legal tender but for some it is a big issue and God forbid they use thier crisp dollar bills and get back crumpled ones. Are you intent on saving your crisp money or indifferent

I have the same old $10.00 in my purse that have been there for months. I never carry more than that because I never use paper money anymore.

No, not at all. When i have crisp bills (peso bills for us) and really have no choice but to use it then i'm going to crumple them until they look old. lol! I know it's a childish act but i've received old bills too! I really don't intend to save crisp bills as it will just be a matter of time before i'm going to spend them. I don't mind receiving old torn bills either. It won't stay long with me anyways.

Oh, it doesn't matter to me, money's, money. The only thing I don't like about crisp dollar bills is that they tend to stick together and its hard to tell if you've got more than one, you really have to check them out before you spend them.

My sentiment too and good point you hav eraised about dollar bills sticking together ,it has happened to me several times

sticking is bothersome. I have given away 2 pieces instead of one in the past. But now I am more cautious. So mistakes happen less. and of course they are of same value.

Yeah, if I have some new bills, I'll just crumple them up a little when I spend them, so they won't stick together so much. I've done that too, gave more than what I needed to because they were stuck together..haha.

Crisp? What's that? LOL - the only crisp dollar bills I'll get is if I iron them and really, who takes the time. No it doesn't matter to mean. Money is money. I don't look at it as a 'pride' thing. So they might be crisp, but it still spends the same. The value isn't any higher - or is it? Maybe I should get my iron out and find out. LOL

Ha! Ha! No, not really. It is funny that you ask because I as well enjoy crisp dollar bills (and quite frequently). I know this may seems strange, but the thing is, I wash my money (mostly to remove the germs) and then I take a hot iron to them! LOL. After that, I am left with sanitized, crisp "bills"!. :-)

I would prefer to first spend my older ones first--for the legitimate reason that many people[shopkeepers pass these on and once they get too old they refuse to take them back, and I cannot keep track of the giver and get back exactly to him when there is a lapse of few days between purchases[however insignificant they may be];so it would be better to part with them. However if they are torn then I would change them in a bank.--incidentally, I was talking about the rupee note - the currency here.

yeah that is quite natural to me. i can not spend my fresh notes. Given chance I will hold on to them as long as possible. But hey they are all of equal value. So it is actually just a personal choice.

Mmm no I'm not. I like them when i get them but the crisp smoothness only tends to last long enough for it to go into my wallet (then is folded) or stuffed in my pocket. I have a few crispish american dollar bills (they were crisp when i got them) that are rolled into a roll and tied with an elastic so i can get them in and out of the jar. Future savings for a trip!

It doesn't matter to me as long as it spends! But I do know that if you have a cumpled bill you can take it to the bank and exchange it for a new one. I have a friend that is a little OCD about the whole thing! The bank loves seeing her!! LOL

It doesn't matter either way to me. I can spend the crisp bills just as well as the old, nasty ones. I guess my kids don't have a problem with that either. Seems as though anytime I have cash in hand it just disappears.

and I thought I was the only one with such childish fascination for new notes. I know its childish, I know its for spending not framing on the wall, yet I would wait till the last before I part with my new crisp notes. I would always give away my soiled notes first

I don't usually worry about the condition of my bank notes unless I am planning to give cash as a gift to someone; then it's nice to put nice new bills in a card. Under normal circumstances I don't care money is money and crumpled bills aren't a concern, in fact I wish I had more!

I love crisp peso bills because they are new and they are nice to keep. When I was still working and I withdraw my salary from an ATM, it sometimes dispense crisp peso bills. I keep the crisp ones and I spend the crumpled ones. I love to keep crisp bills because for me they symbolize my efforts at work and they are nicer than those crumpled ones. But when I have something to buy and I have no crumpled ones but just crisp ones, then I use them. I only keep them if I still have crumpled money. I tend to be more inspired to work when I have in my wallet crisp bills. I do not discriminate crumpled money because they are still money. I just keep and treasure the new ones more than the old bills. I still spend crisp bills if I have no choice and I think there is nothing wrong with that.

Money is money, either way you look at it. Some coins are shinier, too, but all in all they represent the same thing; Currency. Saving your crisp dollars doesn't really mean anything.. Because even then, eventually they will end up the same as any other. Just currency. So no, I don't save my 'New' money, though I do like the new colors on the larger bills. Makes me not want to use them quite so much.
