You Get Paid To Blog

I recently found a blogging site that pays you to write a blog about anything you want. They pay $1 per post with atleast 100 words, but you can only be paid for 1 post per day. They also pay $.002 per visiter to your blog. The catch is that they own all your blog posts and you can't advirtise on your blog because that is where their money comes from. Is this worth it? I know it is possible to host your own blog and use adverts and links to make money, but that is also more work. I kinda don't want to keep blogging on their site cause I know they are making money from my content when I could be making it instead. I feel I am experienced enough to design and promote my own blog anyway. I know that they must make money off their user's blog to do this. Is it worth it to sell all your content to make this or should I go out on my own and keep my content and try to make money with adverts?

I would say go out on your own and create a niche blog and do it for the fun of it first then worry about the money. I would avoid any site that would claim ownership of your work like the plague no matter what pennies they are paying. Sometimes you might just hit the spot with the right blog Good luck my friend

Yes your writings and creative work are yours, so I would not let another site claim ownership. They say every one has a novel in them just waiting to come out

Thanks. The fact that they own your content is what bothers me the most. I put a lot of effort into my writing. I also read on their site, if you want to tranfer your content to another blog, you have to buy it back at what they think it is worth PLUS 10%. Scary.

Why not do both? You can choose one topic to write blogs about on the paid site and another topic to write blogs about on your own site. Do both for a while and see how they compare in profit and popularity. If you worry that your best work will be owned by someone else, use the lesser of your topics for that site. Any time you are writing for money, it is good to have multiple sources of income coming to you. You never know when a particular site may close down or stop paying, or when a topic that was very popular this month may become old news next month. The name of the game is quantity. Of course quality is important too, but one brilliant article will not make you as much money as twenty so-so ones.

Thanks. You make a great point. I never really thought of it like that. I could just do two blogs one different topics and see how they compare after some time. Thanks a lot.

My pleasure. This is what I do in my spare time also. I write articles on a variety of topics for Triond as well as doing tasks here and elsewhere. I wish you much luck on your blogging and making money for writing!

i think it is a nice site and offer. why don't you just post the link here? i also go for the suggestions of others here that you can do both, write for that site and create your own blog. that would be a great way to earn money and you also exercise your writing skills as well as meet new friends. happy blogging.

Why not do both? You can even use the same topics just rearrange the words so it looks like a different article from the one you put on your blog. I would also use a different title. I do this sometimes and use a pseudonym on my paid articles.
