We live in the society , in a complex of different relations with people around us . Games are simplified models of the real life in the society . Most of the rules governing a social life are highlighted in games. At the same time ,games teach us strategy and intelligence about life .And no teacher in the world can be compared to games . They are attractive ,friendly and patient . But do you agree or disagree with the statement : a game is fun only when you win it ?

I disagree... spending the time playing should be worth more than winning or losing. Similarly, the experience of living a life should be more than achieving all one's goals. It doesn't hurt anyone to fall short some of the time - it teaches a bit of humility and prepares us for disappointments... and wouldn't it be so boring if everything always went according to plan??

yes.the games are designed to simulate the reality. some guys propose to get the pleasure which they can't attain in true life. but the fun of game is not only from win. the process is more entertaining than the result in some cases. if the game have only one ending, there is no attraction anymore.

Definitely not! A game for me is not just winning or losing. The enjoyment of the games lies on how you play the game. If you played the game with all your strengths and all your skills and enjoy it but loose in the end, you will not totally be depressed about it since you know that the one who one deserve it better. Winning is just a consequence of your action but in totality, a game is something where you can have some fun while competing!

I disagree, because many times it is not just a matter of winning. One often needs practice in order to win at some games and it is precisely this practice that gives the fun!

A game indeed more fun when we are winning. If we keep loosing in a game we tend to loose interest in the game. But if we keep winning then the game gets interesting.

It depends how you define fun, and how important winning is to you. Some people think winning in some senses is just doing your best, or having some good quality time with people. I don’t think winning and fun are mutually exclusively related to one another. Because sometimes people can win, and they still didn’t have fun because of something else. So whatever that something else is what must make it fun; if you had whatever that is, it would probably be fun no matter what. But winning cannot be the only way to have fun during a game, it can be fun to win though.

I think is for fun but not just for fun. When you play with your friends and you win it ,you and your friends are all happy.Because you all get happiness from the game. Many people play internet games for money. If they win ,they can have more chances to get equipments.

Well, it's good to win, but also good to participate. When you get together with friends for a cards game, football game... the most important thing is the reunion.

Yes i agree a game is fun only when we win it.If we are stuck in a game or we never get a high score we get very frustrated. We can also keep a time limit when we play games otherwise just to win or make a high score we can take a lot of time.Yes games teach us strategy and intelligence. But we should not play violent games too much because it affects our nature.

No I strongly disagree! I was brought up playing games and brought my children up to play games too. We all still play games and the enjoyment for us comes from gradually getting better and eventually winning more often than we lose. I think it's a good way to learn that sometimes no matter how hard you try you may not win. That is true in real life too so It's a valuable lesson to learn. If you think a game is only fun when you can win then you haven't learnt anything by playing the game. The fun is in the challenge of doing the best you can in an individual game or sport, and in team games it's the enjoyment of participating with others.

Hm, you and your children enjoy yourself by playing games that is great . I think many people can't do it like you . Because the most of people want to win in games in order to get contention . Conquering all the games is very important for some people that is the nature of human being . So how to do in the games is depend on the thinking of one's.

Well if you are a sore loser, then losing a game will definitely be a very bad thing. But if you are sport and you just enjoy the game, then it will still be fun.

I disagree. Of course, I like to win, but the fun of playing is what's important. I love to play games wiht my friends, and half the time I don't even care when I lose. I just like spending time with them and having fun. I'm even happy for them when they win! Not sure how this translates into my approach to life, but that is how I feel.

I don't agree with it. I think game is just a competition so any way there will be a winner and a loser. Well winner will definitely be happy for winning but even loser can also be happy just because their fight was tough or just because that person has improved from their previous performance. It don't really need to win to have fun in any game. Well you might know that it is difficult to defeat your opponent and still you gave a tough fight then you will definitely enjoy it.

it is true that a game is only fun when you win it. i think the purpose of winning wouldn't be far from somebody else's mind when they join games unless they don't have anything to do and the mere presence of a game prevents them from being idle. speaking for myself, i think people can learn more and far better from actual experience.

I disagree... if you get all wrapped up in only winning, you take a lot of fun out of it right there

Hello youetme, It depends. If I am playing a video or computer games it is fun to win. The game should be challenging enough so that it will bring out the best in you. The win is hollow if you win easily without you doing anything spectacular. For other games giving your best is enough to have fun. You don't have to win to enjoy it and have fun. Having some fashion is enough. Regards.

game is not just about winning and by winning you can only say that it is fun. it comes with defeat as well. i am varsity player and intramural player of volleyball and table tennis, i win and i loose also, whether of the two comes, its still fun. the excitement, anticipation, preparation, adrenalin rush and the camaraderie goes hand in hand and that makes the game even if i loose a fun experience. i agree with your statement that most rules governing a social life are highlighted in games, cause real life is like a game as well. win or loose, we need to strive further and harder until we reach the main flat form and receive our prize and recognition.

I suppose it depends on the game. There is that saying about it not mattering if you win only how you play. If you play for the pleasure of the act then it may not matter what the outcome is.

I think I agree with this statement. Cause in my real life , to see my friends having fun together without me, I may feel a little bit lost.
