Whistle an Old Tune

When I am overwhelmed and tasks keep building up, I feel stressed, and stress contributes to making me feel old. This cycle is important to break so you feel rejuvenated and young at heart no matter what's on your plate that day and no matter what age you are. As you think about everything that needs to be done, use music to help reduce stress. Play tunes that bring you back to a time when you were free and easy. Think of songs, titles and artists you heard back in your high school days. My favorite tune that brings back nostalgia is this beautiful song - Something about the way you look tonight. Beautiful melody. Hearing those melodies and feeling rhythms from earlier times in your life can bring you back to your basic, essential self. In fact, listening to music lowers your blood pressure and heart rate as well as improves your mood. Trust me it does. Whats on your card to bounce back after a stressful day?

Hello my friend zandi458 Ji, It is very true state of mind for one to refresh. By this we go back to old memories as well. My hubby is very fond of remembering very old songs and as he applies soap on his body, his song will too develop to different tones. I visulise, whenever he is happy, he will keep singing. This is very good therphy. May god bless you and have a great time.

Hi! Zandi! Undoubtedly, music and songs play as stress buster for us, when we feel low and burdened after a day's work. We need some kind of relaxation and music is one of the best options to make us feel calm and relaxed and it diverts our attention from our pending and unresolved matters. I also go for music, when I am tired or am going to sleep, listening to some soft music before going to sleep helps a lot to get a good sleep.

i love listening to music. have the radio on right now listening to my favorite station which is a country music station that plays oldies 24/7. sometimes it doesn't relieve the stress , lol, it brings back alot of memories, good & bad but i like it anyway. i think we all need something that we can all get into to put our stress on the back burner. i'm not a big watcher of tv, i think alot are & can lose themselves in a good movie or whatever. to be honest mylotting helps me. i think when u can sit here in front of your computer & forget things for awhile, it's good. i can do that w/mylot. hope u are having a good day, zandi.

Definitely am having good time mylotting especially reading the comments to my posts, I can never stop laughing to some funny responses and likewise I do inject some humor to my responses to others. Some might not be able to comprehend me well but I like putting some fun to mylotting. This is where I can mingle with people who can take fun from mylot.

Hi Zandi! I love listening to music though I do not keep on playing it through the day.But when there are good song sequences in tv channels too, I watch happily when it is my tv watching time[normally I watch films/old classics in the afternoon and these songs are soemtimes telecast in the evenings. When my son is at home he plays music and I love it .While cooking too, I find this most elevating and I would keep singing and losing myself along with the music played. There is no doubt that melodious music is most relaxing and lt also lifts your spirits when there is good jolly music.-good discussion. I also read recently about music therapy--http://www.emusictherapy.com/

'Music Therapy is one of the alternative form of therapeutic treatment, it is the planned and creative use of music to attain and maintain health, wellbeing. The mind has the tendency to relate or to identify things in a known pattern, accordingly come to a result/conclusion through our expressed behavior. Rather if we let the music flow into us without getting into the nuances or intricacies of the particular piece which has been provided for the therapeutic purposes it does wonder with the patients/clients/participants. Since these informantion and other pertaining to brain are available only through brain injured patients, we must patiently wait to have conclusive evidence for many of the brain related research and claims. Yu can look up this site and it would reinforce your first hand experience. 'http://www.emusictherapy.com/about.htm

I share your views here. Music is ageless and it rejuvenates the old. Music does play a part in keeping our sanity intact. Thanks for the link. I'll check that out.

Oh I love "The Way You Look Tonight"! Yes you are right music can reduce stress. This is the reason why I listen to good music a lot because I am a very busy person and I need something to balance any stressful moment I have. But of course I prefer the mellow, wholesome songs like the first song I said. I love those type of music. It brings back the good memories of the past. It brings romance in the air. I also love hymns and inspirational songs that nourishes my soul. What a good way to relax and enjoy despite the heavy loads to be done.I love music but good music of course.

Hey zandi! When I am feeling stressed and want to feel better I also play music! It depends on the exact mood what kind of tunes I will play! I might go back into the music archives and pull out something from the past or I might just go and put on a newish CD and listen and feel the beat and get myself into the mood again and start feeling better almost immediately! Music is the one way I can feel myself calming down or changing my stress level! It defintely does soothe the savage beast!
