I am so mad!! I went out this morning and took my son to school, got gas in my car, and then ran to the store to pick up 4 or 5 things that I needed, like laundry detergent, some ketchup that we ran out of ...etc, and while I was near the registers I picked out a bottle of pop. I put all on the register and did the self check out with my recycle canvas bags... then the lady that worked there helped bag my stuff (I only had like 5 things) I think she was just bored because the store was pretty slow at the time I was there.... I got home unloaded my stuff and I dont have my bottle of pop!!...its on my receipt...I paid for it and I dont have any pop in the house so I was really looking forward to it. ...and I dont have it now either. has this happened to you?

I have bought things before that I did not have when I got home. It is annoying. Especially when it is some thing that you really want or need. I would be annoyed if I got home and my soda was not in the bag and I did not have any in the house.

It has happened to me too but I just call the store up and tell them what happened. Usually they have it there waiting on me when I come back to get it. Sorry about your bad experience. Did you call them up and tell them what happened?

yes, that was the worst part was that I didnt have any when I got home...that is why I was looking forward to it... but when I went to get my son I ran into Mcdonalds and got me a large pop for $1 since they have that promotion!!! next time I will be more cautious before I leave!!

Wyldrose....I didnt call them because they are a very large one stop shop.... so unfortunately I didnt have time to go back and I dont think calling would help... next time though I will be very cautious of having everything before I leave. thanks for the response.

Yes I have done this but it was more than one ,I had to turn around and go back to get them and they had already put them back on the shelves. Didn't even wait to see if I would come back for them.

This has happened so many times I lost count, and we don't even have a car to go back to the store, we have to pay my sister $5 every time we need to go to the store! Our car broke down about 6 months ago and we don't have the extra money to get it fixed so going back to the store to retrieve our lost item would cost us more then the item is worth! But any way, if you lose an item, call the store first, then take your receipt to the office and they will give you your lost item! (At least you don't have to pay $5 just to get back to the store to get your lost item)!

oh that is horrible you have to pay $5...I hope you get your car fixed soon. sometimes with the price of gas, that might be cheaper though....LOL thanks for the response.

Awhh.. This did happen to me when the shopkeeper selectively did not hand me over the free ketchup bottle that came with some grocery stuff i don't remember now. When my mom rang even before telling them anything he told her that he missed the bottle. It was a known shop and not a superstore, so thing was easier.

Yes, once it has happened but when I rushed back to the mall, I found it with the cashier or registrar, whatever you call. He was so honest that he gave it back to me. I thankd him a ton, although the thing wasn't that costly but again, a penny is a penny isn't ti?

it happened to me once... but it is entirely my fault as i am in a hurry and i forget to grab my whole shopping bag... and the worst thing is, i make the purchase on new year's eve and the next day is new year... so the shop is closed... i have to wait for 2 days to get my grocery back that i really needed... i learn to be more careful after that... take care and have a nice day...

Yes i have had this happen to me at Wal-mart. I would get home and something i was sure I bought wasn't there. but It was because I didn't get all my bags. Now I'm more careful and check to make sire that I get all my bags before I leave.

Yes I know what you mean I feel angry to when that happens to me, its a bummer when you pay for something and then you end up not getting it, that also happen to my mother a few times, but sometimes when that happens to her she go's back to the store with her receipt and then go to the teller and shows her receipt then she gets back the item she paid for, its just a matter of deciding if the item is worth going back for, well anyway I'm sorry that happened to you.

That definitely must really suck, I know I would have been extremely ticked off if that happened to me. Especially when the weather is nice like it was today for me and I really wanted/needed a cold beverage. Did you just forget it, or did the lady actually take it? If the lady took it then that's stooping pretty low, it's just a bottle a pop. She could have just gone to buy one herself. People these days, what they do always surprises me.

actually I am not sure, I just know the two bags I took in had stuff in them, so I grabbed them and left. If she put it somewhere else on the counter I never saw it or I would have grabbed it. At least it was just a bottle of pop and I am out 1.40 but I think it was more the day that I really wanted it and was looking forward to it....LOL thanks for the response.

I used to work at a supermarket, people forget stuff all the time!! believe me they even forget bags full of stuff, sometimes they came back to get it sometimes they didn't. If I buy only a few items I don't forget I always look in the bag to see if everything is in there, but if I go grocery shopping for the months sometimes I forget stuff, but I really think it's not my fault it's the cashier or the person bagging the groceries, maybe they dropped it on the floor or something. Because it's impossible to just disappear after you paid for it!

that was the thing...I brought my own recycled bags so that I could bag the stuff myself....I wasnt mad that she helped out, I know it was slow and she was probably just bored but I only had like 6 things including the pop.... ugh!!! thanks for the response.

I've definitely had this happen to me before at the grocery store. My fiancee and I went grocery shopping one time and the woman packed our meat in a separate bag. Well apparently she then set it aside, because we never took it home! We got home and later that night I decided to get something out of the freezer to thaw for the next evening's dinner and I noticed it wasn't there. I checked the receipt and we did pay for it. We never ended up going back to get the ground chicken. We really should've , since we paid for it.

I know, I wish I would have noticed earlier when I was out, I would have gone back but as it was it was so much later. I have done that too... with stupid stuff like hair mousse or something, because they dont put it in the bags with the food that sometimes that bag gets forgotten. since I live on such a low income, every penny counts and this really urked me today!!! but I should have checked before I left...I guess I am more mad at myself for not doing that!! thanks for the response.

hello :) aweh ! hahah, that sucks. oh welll, just go get another one? :) I see this was nine hours ago, hahah. I guess it doesnt matter anymore =P yeah, thats happened to me plenty of times. I'll buy something, and accidentally leave a bag or whatever, and then when I go back to get it, theyre all "what are you talking about? you never left anything here. and if you did, someone probably took it." . ruuude people. I mean, just because you don't feel like serving your customers doesn't mean it's not part of the job. like seriously, youre in the job to get money, but you need to earn the money. earning the money requires DOING THE JOB. some people need a reality chhhheck ;D hahaha. oh well, whatever, its their own fault if they get fired or something. anyways , peace :)

Actually this has happened to me several times. I have left box of pampers, bag of groceries. I after I realized I left what I paid for I went back to the store and they gave it to me. Most of the time the clerk realized or I left it at the self check out line and the person looking at the cameras saw it. I know the people in georgia are generous that way, and I have heard of situations like this in other states and they weren't so generous, but I think it is normal. We have so much going on and we tend to forget things. Its embarassing, but normal.

You are right....we have so much going on that we are already thinking 3 or 4 things ahead of what we are doing that we dont focus on what we are doing at that moment... I have to stay more focused in the future... thanks for the response.

It's happened to my girlfriend. A couple of times. And she was also very angry. Also, we went shopping one day and because there was no room anywhere else, we put the mmilk on the bottom of the cart. While wheeling the cart to the car it must have slipped off. We noticed it before leaving the parking lot but retracing our steps we didn't find one. We even went inside to the cash register. Someone probably got a free gallon of milk.

Oh no....ok, I would have been very angry about the milk... I go through so much of that with my kids right now, I couldnt go without that!!!! so sorry to hear about that!!! I know the bottle of pop wasnt good for me to begin with, but it was an impulse... I will be more careful next time. thanks for the response.

Yeah, it has happened with me a couple of times. Once a bought a packet of potato chips and a bottle of shampoo. I picked up the chips but forgot to collect the Shampoo bottle. I realized what I missed once I came back home. I called the store people and they said I can collect it from them any time. But I didn't find it a good option to drive 4 miles to and fro for a shampoo bottle and hence never went up there for it.

I know that there are times when we forget something but we usually just call the store and have them hold the item until we can get back up there. Of course sometimes if it's a small item like soda then the cashier or bagger, etc, will put the item back. You can always call, tell them you bought it, keep your receipt and bring it with you the next time your out.

It was the smaller bottle, the 20oz, it was more of an impulse item that I grabbed last minute... and of course sometimes when you do the impulse you dont think of it right away when you leave....LOL, and that happened to me today!! but I went out to get my son and stopped at Mcdonalds...they have a $1 large soda deal going on for the summer... and I was happy for that today!! LOL thanks for the response.
