Do you eat at home or do you go out to eat? My boyfriend and I try to eat in as much as we can, it saves us money. But when we are really tired or have had a long day we eat out. What about you? Do you eat at home or go out to eat?

We usually like to eat a t home more often than we will eat out. I just like cooking besides it saves us quite a bit of money. There are four of us and it usually ends up costing us close to thirty dollars for one meal...I could take that money to a grocery store and get at least two or possibly even three meals for that. Besides I like sitting at our own dinner table and being able to talk about our day...when you do fast food or eat a restaurant it makes it harder.

I agree! When we eat at home we are able to talk and bond a little bit better than going out. When we are at home we can either eat at the table or in the living room...and we are comfortable.Which leads us to relax and talk about the stress of our day. Plus it keeps us in better contact of our different schedules. I think eating at home keeps our more together and organized, especially with time rather than being distracted when we go out to eat.

Most of time,we eat at home.I cook the meal for me and my bf.Just as you said,it saves us lots of money. And another key point is both of us think eating at home is more healthy.Food in resturant always contains lots of oil and gourmet powder. And the gourmet powder may lead to cancer. We won't use that stuff at all when we cook by ourselves. But we have meal outside someday. When we have something to celerbrate or we just feel tired to cook,we may go out for a meal.Sometimes when we hangout,we may have the meal outside too.

My boyfriend and I both agree that eating at home can save lots of money, but its also healthier! I used to work in the restaurant industry for years. So I know most of the recipes from different restaurants. Instead of eating the food at the restaurant (which takes time, money, and effort) we eat the same types of food at home. My boyfriend is even interested in learning how to cook at home. Who knows, maybe one day he will do all the cooking for me.

We eat in more than out. I cook 2 to 3 meals at home daily. We very seldom eat out, maybe once in a blue moon and when we do it's nothing fancy. Something fast, and cheap so we don't feel like we've wasted alot of money.

I agree! Fast and cheap is the way to go. I don't eat at fast food restaurants, so our version of fast is a sub at the deli. It gives us the feeling that we are dining out, when in reality it was really an excuse to go shopping. Publix is the grocery store in our area and they make great subs. While my BF orders the sub and stays busy I can run and do some shopping that would take forever if he was with me. But I get to knock two birds with one stone. We get dinner for the night and our fridge and pantry our stocked for the rest of the week for us to do some cooking at home.

Sorry to hear about your eating problems. May I ask what digestive problem you have? Feel free to e-mail me and friend request if you would like.

I'm sooooo sorry to hear this. The doctors have given you a specialized diet to follow right? If you send me the food list I can try and come up with some tasty foods that you might be able to eat. I love coming up with new recipes on the days that I'm feeling better.

Hi OceanZealot I eat at home more often.I agree with you, eating at home can save money. But at the end of the week, especially when I take my children to play in the plaza/mall or go to the zoo, before we go home we go to our favorite place to eat.Besides saving money, eating at home can also make us more closely with the family, make family ties stronger.

You are right! Eating at home can be the ties that make the family stronger. But you don't want those ties to break you and the kids. So when on the go it is good to pick something that fits your budget and keeps everyone happy. But its nice to splurge every now and again...LOL. I have to watch my calories, but all I'm thinking about now is mall pizza and soda from the fountain...and ice cream to end it all. LOL!

I try very hard to eat mostly at home. It's becoming too expensive to eat out. But, we have those days where I am tired and haven't taken meat out of the freezer the night before, and have no idea what to cook, and dear husband just says, "Oh, I don't feel like cooking anyway, let's just get McDonalds." Overall I'd say we eat out once or twice a week, but it is usually McDonalds value menu, or -if we feel like splurging- Chinese take-out.

It is so very funny that you say that. My boyfriend is normally the one that says I'm too tired to cook. Then he says, "Let's order take-out." We either have pizza or chinese. But I think its normally because we haven't defrosted something from the freezer. We have so much potential for eating at home, but many times its the prep work that discourages us.

We used to go out almost everyday for dinner, as I would be too tired to cook by the time I return from office. Then when the prices of goods go up last year, we tried cooking at home to save costs. Since then, we have been eating in most of the time, going out only during the weekends. It's much cheaper and healthier!

I love to eat out and my fiance and I eat out at least a couple of times a month. We live in a village where there are no restaurants and since we moved here we don't eat out as often as we used to, because we always have to drive if we want to eat out. When I was living in a big town several restaurants were within walking distance, so it was very easy (too easy?) to eat out instead of eating at home. When I eat out I prefer foreign food. Indian, Chinese and Mexican restaurants are my favourite.

I usually eat at home. Even I in school, I prepared my own pack lunch. Food here in my place are not really safe to eat with all the non proper handling of food. Salmonella is one of those disease that spreading nowadays that's why I prepared my own food.

I have to say i eat in way more than i go out to eat because it is a money saver big time and even using left overs helps a lot too and eating left overs is a big money saver to. I would love to go out to eat, but it cost a lot to go out to eat, if i have some gift cards or extra cash i would go out to eat but usually only on the weekends because everyone seems to be busy during the week working and what not. I do enjoy eating at home because we can eat on the back porch and i live right down the street from a boat ramp and so of course its the water and a great breeze at night sometimes so it isn't to bad eating at home and i enjoy it.

Having a great at home eating area really encourages eating at home. I would love to have that kind of ambiance when I eat. I bet the holidays is a great time for that view...people love decorating their boats and cruising down the water.

There are a lot of times when I'm studying that I find that I have to eat out. I try and pick something healthy and affordable. Lately I have been making sure that if I have any coupons I bring them with me to save some money.
