Do you? It's dinnertime again. Nobody here likes the same things it seems. So, if I'm lucky, when I make something 3 out of 4 people will like it. Today I'm just working with what I've got at home. Spaghetti and meatsauce. 2 out of 4 will be okay with that. I guess the other two can just it cereal if they want.

Hi Miamilady...I know the feeling. When I had all 4 kids still at home, they all liked different things. But I cooked only one meal and they ate it. WHen they got older, if they didnt want it, they would have to cook for themselves and not stuff I had for other meals either. SOmetimes I used to feel like there was nothing left to cook and we were eating the same things, even though we werent. Sometimes I love to cook, like now that theres just hubby and I and he appreciates everything.

Hello miamilady. It is the same with me that I don't want to cook for myself sometimes. Then I will just go to a small restaurant to eat or if I feel lazy to go out, I will just eat instant noodles to drive away my hunger. Take care, friend.

I can't cook to save my life!! I married a guy who loves to cook, and who is damn good at it. He's the best cook in the world, and that's just perfect for us. I never like cooking, and I am really not that good at it. Ironic since I wrote a cookbook, but it doens't take much to put a bunch of family recipes together. LOL I write, I don't cook.

My mother in law had the same frame of mind when my husband was growing up. There is no need to cook 5 different meals for 5 people.

Perhaps I´m old fashioned, but in my house everyone ate what was put in the plate. If they didn´t, they went without food. Noone will die from hunger with that measure but your life will be happier. Taste buds get acostumed to new flavours. They can be taught, as anything else.

I hate cooking too, I just think any food cooked by someone else tastes better even sandwiches, if I was rich my main meal of the day would be at a restaurant every day...I just don't like cooking at all.

Have you ever seen that show 'Can't Cook, won't cook' well it was big over in the UK some time back now, not sure if it's still running but that's me! I can't cook and I have absolutely zero interest in cooking! I am not a big eater anyhow and I prefer to snack on healthy foods, I do a lot of training so I am careful what I eat, so I bulk up on the proteins etc, I snack on cottage cheese, fruits, vegetables, yoghurts, tuna fish, chicken and eggs, all readily available and little or no cooking required! And yes I have been known to eat a big bowl of cereal when I've been hungry! Or when I need a carb boost.

during the times when my children are still toodlers it was very tiring for me to think on what to cook and to think on what to give them. i want to make sure it was healthy and that it would be enjoying. now that they are all teens it was more easy for me. sometimes they are the one cooking and it has lessen the burden that i have. lucky me that my children are not picky eaters. so i know how you feel cooking and thinking if they will enjoy it or not.

I agree. The dishes is the worst part of cooking. I love making new meals out of left overs. Maybe that's what one can do when there are children with many different tastes to feed.

Good girl! If they don't like what you fix let them eat cereal. The days of setting down to a mealing and sharing experiences of the day and such are gone too I am thinking. But, they need to eat what is served. I do hate cooking sometimes. While I was sick I made my daughter [adult] cook and now I am figuring it out again. Odd how depression messed with my memory and all.

Hey miamilady! I guess you can't please everyone all the time! There are actually 2 people in your house that don't like spaghetti and meatsauce? And they would rather eat cereal? Now that is wrong! I do know that it is hard to please 4 people all the time! I remember what my own mother went through! I was probably the hardest to please! But, we didn't get a second choice! We had to eat whatever she made and that was that!

That is hard when you cook and not every one eats it. I used to have this a lot when i was little either i would like the food my mom cooked or my brother would like it and neither one of us liked the same things so they always knew one would be eating some type of breakfast food available in the pantry. The nights i don't feel like cooking are the frozen pizza nights or ordering pizza. Other night i seem to be OK with cooking as long as its fast and something easy to clean up. Tonight wasn't to bad as we ate on the back porch and i used three pants to cook and the counter top's didn't have to washed down to bad because we ate on the back porch table since it was nice out. have a good dinner.

It is true that sometimes we do feel sort of lazy to cook .There are people who never want to cook at all.But people who relish food always cooks with great care -that is what I personally feel .I always plan the next day cooking with all enthusiasm.I see that I have all the ingredients for what I plan for the cooking. So it makes my work easy and consumes less time otherwise you have to run about to get the missing items. It is true that even I feel lethargic to cook .I would be glad to have my dinner cooked and served by someone ,It makes the food delicious .Everyone needs a change.

I do not hate cooking, what I do hate is the fact that I cook something and my kids are there with their "eww not eating that" " dont like that" etc etc and then most of it goes into the bin. I mean I just refuse to cook different meals for 6 different people no matter what. I try and give them all something they all like but I cant please everyone!!! It just gets me so mad.

hi miamilady sometimes My wife said she was tired have to cook every day, bored with the same routines in the kitchen. but my wife also understand if she does not cook so we had to buy food. and that it is not good for the family finances.surely you know how much should be spent to buy food.compare it when you cook your own.you don't like cooking might be because deep in your heart you not receive the task of cooking with the light-hearted. This is only my opinion, if you may be aware, like it or not, happy or not happy, you still have to cook,so why not enjoy it. something that you do with happy will provide the maximum results. but sometimes need a variation, and if you feel you really can not cook that day, ask your husband to replace your job, or buy food from outside. but remember, do not do it often. believe it, not good for the family finances.

My mom's last resort was cereal when we all couldn't agree on a meal. That must be very tough. I like cooking, even accommodating the menu to everyone's tastes. The thing that I hate is washing the dishes and cleaning up. I would love it if someone just cleaned up behind me. I would cook everyday then. LOL.

I get pretty upset most of the time when I prepare something for my husband and suddenly get all negative remarks about it. I mean I am passionate about cooking and what I put in the table but I just don't know why I have to hear some negative comments. I truly feel that I don't deserve it.
