Petting Zoo

One the day I went to the petting zoo, this llama kept attacking everyone for food from the minute you step in. It got pretty wild and pushy. Knowing that there are small children in the pen the keepers did not calm him down or try to place him in seperate pen. It was crazy and upsetting, all I wanted was for my kids to see some calm farm animals not a crazy demon llama. Anything like this happen to you at a petting zoo?

I have a certain amount of sympathy for the llama that you're mentioning, just because it's an unfortunate life for it to live - being caged up 24/7 and not free to roam like they naturally should. The llama was probably that crazy because of the conditions it's had to live with in the zoo - and the stress of it, too (yes - animals get stressed). While it's unfortunate that you and your family couldn't enjoy a nice day at the petting zoo, I think we all need to remember how horribly a lot of these animals are treated on a day-to-day basis.

You know what I must be really insensitive because I truely didnt think about the llamas feelings. I am an animal lover and I cant believe that I thought of myself before him/her. Thank you for putting it into perspective. Maybe that is what is the problem with some of these Petting Zoos its all about the profit$$. Thank you for your input :)
