I am wondering if its possible to catch the same flu twice. Do you ever build up immunities to flu's that you have had in the past?

They say that the flu virus rarely stays the same so I suppose your immune system gets fooled by the mutated virus and you get sick anyway. Cheers!!

Well like all colds go round and you catch them again and again, the flu is the same you can catch it a lot, but there are now preventative measures like getting a flu jab each year which should prevent you from catching it and if you do it would be a mild one...but the older you get the more susceptible you are to catching it....littleowl

I don't know, but I do know if you don't take care of yourself it can come back and make you sicker then ever. That is why it's so important to make sure you are cured before you go back to life as usual.

Yes, I've had the same cold for several times. But it is believed that we hardly have the same flu twice, biologically. But that depend on our immune system.

I know you can't catch the same cold twice so I will say no, even viruses have their own DNA

Yep, flu is constantly mutating and easily passed from one person to the next and back to you again. If it weren't for the constant mutation I'd think they would of found a vaccine that would repel it for life.

i am not a doc but i would think so that is why they constanley give flu shoots every year.i supose you could build immunities to things it depends on the person.
