Obama - 100 days in office, coronated Messiah

I thought I had seen it all but this takes the cake. I also find it to be blasphemy!On his 100th day in office, President Obama will be "crowned" in messianic imagery at New York City's Union Square.
Artist Michael D'Antuono's painting "The Truth" – featuring Obama with his arms outstretched and wearing a crown of thorns upon his head – will be unveiled on April 29 at the Square's South Plaza.
According to a statement released about the portrait, "The 30" x 54" acrylic painting on canvas depicts President Obama appearing much like Jesus Christ on the Cross: atop his head, a crown of thorns; behind him, the dark veil being lifted (or lowered) on the Presidential Seal. But is he revealing or concealing, and is he being crucified or glorified?"
Even the title of the piece, "The Truth," suggests a play on biblical themes, as Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Looks like a mockery to me, unless of course the artist is saying that this is what Obama thinks of himself. I do not like it. It seems to be poking fun at faith.

I agree somewhat, but has Obama endorsed this painting? Or is this just the artist's portrayal of Obama? Id does seem like mockery of faith and I find it in very poor tastes. It is a slap in the face to all Christians. I wonder what faith this artist is?

So far Obama and his sycophants have managed to squash anything even slightly detrimental to the Obama image. Therefore I am quite convinced he approves of this latest piece of crap

Blasphemy...a victimless crime. :)
It's probably actually mocking Obama followers in that it compares them to Christians praising their Lord's every word and action.

That is possible. The artist says that it is up to each person to interpret what they feel. I do not think the article says if Obama endorses it. I do not know if he will say anything at all.

If they want to hang a portrait , why not hang the one of the real Christ? Obama is not a resemblance to God, or a comparisom to God ,never will be, and they can expect the Christians to be sickened by this. What does Obama think about this, that is where , he should take a stand and say no . The crown belongs to the one and only God and no other. If he were a true Christian, he would not allow it. If he were really smart, he would not have anything to do with things like this. I agree with you 100%. There is no way I could ever believe a true Christian could approve of allowing himself to be portrayed as Christ. IMO any of the people who adore him in such a blasphemous way are also not true Christians. I wonder how his Muslim cronies would like it if he portrayed himself as Allah?

Yes it seems that Obama wants to take the glory from Christ and put it on himself. This is blasphemy. He makes himself equal to God. A very dangerous man. And there are those who enable him. America is going to sorry four years from now if something is not done sooner.

It seems it is getting worse and worse. Already the Senate has approved a hate crime bill and the only reason that Obama will veto is because part of the bill it is on the back of is approval for certain military airplanes. So he is more interested in the privileges of a certain lifestyle then making the military more effective. And the cap and trade bill will certainly bankrupt many Americans, but it will not effect Obama and his family and his minions, safe behind their ivory tow= I mean the White House, attending the best schools, having the best of everything.

This is sicko! The man is actually that infatuated with Obama. I have read stuff that he wrote because I thought it was supposed to be kind of an insult to Obama. It is not. He like Farrakhan think Obama is the Messiah. I do not even believe in the christ and I find this offensive. I can just immagine what the christians think.
