I would definitely give something like a wallet to the police. I'm sure the owner would be extremely grateful that someone took the time to give it to the police, rather then take everything inside of it. But, I have to admit, I'm guilty of taking things I've found on the ground. But, yeah, I would give a wallet to the police.

If you find some information like telephone numberin the wallet ,Ithink you'd better contact him or her at first. This would be more convenient for both of you. Handing it to police would be the second choice.

I will try to call the owner and if I have 3 different reaction : 1st,if the owner thankful and want to meet up in some place safe, I'll help him/her. 2nd, if he/she not intend to take back his/her wallet than i will hand over to Police Station, and the last If he/she mad at me and yelling at me and excuse that I am the one that take his/her wallet when I am tried to call him/her. I will throw up that thing everywhere i want(such ungrateful person).

if there's any bit of information like a name and contact number in the wallet, i'd call the owner myself. i'd even offer to wait up for him to pick it up or drop it off if it wouldn't alter my schedule too much. if making contact with the owner is not possible, i'd submit it at the loss and found office of the mall, get a report filed on it and have the manager sign it. since it was lost in the mall, whoever lost it would naturally look for it at the scene of the incident. if i don't feel like entrusting it to the mall, i can just leave my contact information at the office for whoever comes forward looking for it. i had known some people who experienced having lost their stuff in the "lost and found", because others have claimed the item in the pretense of being the rightful owner. i wouldn't want that to happen at all. back in highschool, i've lost a ring and a bracelet after a gym class. good thing another student (who's honest) found it and immediately reported it to his teacher. but he didn't tell what items he found nor did he show it to anyone except to say it's a jewelry piece. when i came forward to claim it, i was asked to describe it. definitely satisfied with my description... only then did they call the student in his class to ask if the items matched my description. and only then did i have it back.

Ive have always been one that if I found something that I tried to find out who it belonged to and return it. But lets face it, people are hard up for money and if you found any laying around you would most likely take it and run.

Hi chigawaga..I would definately turn it in. It could be the only money that a single mom had or something, who knows...I know I would be greatful if someone returned mine if it were lost I would also be afraid of having something terrible happen to me if I didnt, as punishment....I remember once I had just taken money out of my bank to pay my mortgage. I was at work and someone stold the money out of my purse. I even knew who it was but couldnt prove it although it was obvious. It was all the money I had and I remember how upset I was then. I wouldnt want someone else to feel bad like that.

Honestly speaking, I might just take the money. But it all depends on the situation actually. If I'm feeling angelic on that day, I will return it. If I was really desperate for money, I'll take it. That being said, I'll most likely return it cuz as they say, what goes around comes around. I might find $100 today but lose $200 tomorrow. Happy mylotting!

I will turn it over to the police, end of problem. I don't care if there's a contact inside, that's no longer my problem. Besides, if the police handle it, it will be better instead of try solving it on my own.

i would first try to get a contact number to call the ower and hand it over so that other formalities can be ignored. but if i dont find any contact number, i will surely hand it over to the mall administration dept or to the police station.

It will depend on the place where I found it.I will try to track down the owner,if this will not work I will go to the police and surrender the wallet. But if I found it in the mall I will give it to lost and found.

well if i find a wallet then maybe i'll look for any contact card in it..then i'll return it directly to the owner..or if it doesn't have any contact card in it..well i would probably take it to the police and let them return it to the owner..ü just my opinion!ü

I would check for an id and a phone number. If I could get the wallet back to the person without involving anyone else I would. I know that I am honest but I can not say the same for someone else that is why I would try to fix the problem myself. If there was no identification I would turn it in to the lost and found at the place where I found it as I would expect that someone with that amount of cash would be doing some serious back tracking to find the wallet.

I would give it to the police as well...because I know how much it sucks if you lose something and will never get it back... I also lost my back in London and never got it back (luckily I had all important stuff in my jacket.) I don't support those people who think what they find is theirs. It's just wrong....
