or feel the surge of anger, what do you usually do to get rid of the feeling? How do you control it?Do you scream, shout, walk away, throw things or just try to cool yourself by doing a deep breath?Personally, i will just walk away and have a walk or be alone to think and cool down myself and affirm this thoughts that i get from a book which is effective. " It isn't worth it to spend $1000 worth of emotion on a five-cent irritation". How about you do you have some thoughts or wisdom that you tell yourself when you try to cool down yourself from anger emotion?

I stay relaxed, it takes alot to make me blow in public, I tend ot release either in short stories, or by talking to friends.

When I get angry like that, about the only thing I can do that has any positive effect is to cry for several minutes. It beats screaming until I have no voice, or hitting a wall or something equally as stupid. Once the tears have flowed I feel so much calmer and peaceful.

I think the last time I got as angry as you refer to was about 15 years ago, when I stormed out of my boss's office. Nowadays I rarely gat angry, but can handle the situation using different reactions.

I think I subconsciously do that deep breathing exercise. Its just that I really dont want to blow my top off. I really dont scream cause I hate being screamed at. I just literally hold my tongue, keep silent, or just walk away. I usually dont walk away, I stay there trying to hold my anger and just observe the situation. I think I also 'send' daggers with my eyes.LOL! That's about it. After that, when the meeting or something is done, if I have time to walk then I walk for 30 minutes or so. Another habit of mine is to eat when Im irritated. So maybe after walking Ill grab a bite. Sometimes though I go straight to food stop and literally eat away my anger.^_^

I ask myself what is making me angry in the first place, so that I know I won't take it out on the wrong person. Then I talk to someone near by who I know will understand, and another objective opinion in the room will almost always calm me down, Then I go somewhere and have a cup of coffee.
