I think it’s kind of rude to breast feed in public and I don’t know why a woman would want too. I’d feel embarrassed if I was breast feeding in public. I know it’s a natural part of life but so is urinating and we can’t do that in public. I think it would just be common courtesy to cover yourself with a blanket or go to the restroom to breast feed your child. Especially if you are in a location where there are other small children. Am I in the wrong here? What do you think, is it ok to breast feed in public?

I think it's tacky, Come prepared to handle it another way. Can't you use your natural body milk stored when you go out. And if this is not possible, you should do it in privacy, in a corner, or in the back or in the lady's room. I think some women are perverted enough that they would want to do it in public.

Why is it perverted to feed a child in public?

I think you mistook her comment on perversion. I don't think she meant the act itself was pervert but that some woman may feed off the attention for exposing themselves in public.

I dont care that mothers do it, they should be allowed to however I think the ones that do should cover themselves. While it is a natural thing I dont want to be walking around with my kids at the mall or at the park and some lady whip it out and start feeding. Not something I need to see or my kids need to see really. In my opinion.... I was at the mall not too long ago and this lady was just sitting on the bench around the play area feeding her baby and you could see everything, kids kept staring, not mine thank god but other ones as well as grown people and I dont know but I wouldnt be able to do that like that so publicly.

I think it would just be common courtesy to cover yourself with a blanket I have yet to see or know a nursing mother who hasnt covered herself with a burp cloth...I'm sure it happens but I've never seen it...Mind you its possible that I have seen it and it just didnt phase me which it wouldnt so I dont remember... I think there is nothing wrong with it as long as its done respectfully...and I'm sorry but when my kids were nursing and if we were out in the mall or whatever and they got hungry I was feeding them! BUT again I was discrete about it and respectful of the fact htat there were prudish and not so openminded ppl out there (my kids havent been nursing ages in YRS, they are both teens now..

I think when the mother and the baby are in the public places, the mother knows the baby needs to be fed so she will feed it, it is just normal. I think it is perfectly fine as long as the mother has the cover thing to cover it and doesn't do it like in the middle at the food court or something like that. I think mothers will do that to respect people.
