Why are they calling it the swine flue?

Is it because this flue comes from pigs? or is there some other reason for the name I thought it was because this illness came from pork meat, but I thought id ask just to be sure I'm not mistaken if I am mistaken and there is some other reason for the name please in lighten me?

Yes, the swine flu is named that because it comes from pigs. Most people who have been affected work with or around pigs. There have been a few cases of person-to-person transmission, but it is rare. You do not get swine flu from eating pork.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure, well anyway Iv never eaten pig meat, I was taught that pork meat was unhealthy to eat, so I guess in some ways the people who taught me that were right.

Yes I have been watching the news, and I am aware of that, but my question is why has this illness been called the swine flue, and from what I read here so far this that the virus got its name becuse it originated from pigs, and it has now mutated in to somthing that can be spread from person to person.
