I have scanned my computer everyday here lately and it detects 8 problems. It comes up with a virus called Adware-BHO.gen.g. I try to remove it but it says it can't be completely removed. I have Mcafee, by the way. Does anybody know what I can do about this problem? Does anybody know what Adware-BHO.gen.g is? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kathy.

hello cyrus123? How are you? Here is a tip... Today instead of listening to the music on your computer, stay few inches far from your computer and sing in a melodious voice, I know you are a good singer. Like the story of The Piper, all the virus will come out of your computer and start listening to your song. Then yeah...this is the real chance...Spray them away lol... That was a joke don't mind... Well virus are real problematic while using internet. As far as my experience I have never been able to remove the computer virus completely when the virus is already on the computer. Even though I remove the virus their effect would still be remaining and we get many problems while using the computer. So the best thing I do is use the backup and format the system drive. When the virus is already on the system and then installing the antivirus system doesn't work nice. It is always better to install the antivirus system before the virus gets into our computer. Its like, "If the houses is already captured by the terrorists it is difficult for the COPS or SWATS to remove them safe and if the SECURITY SYSTEM is already strong, it is difficult for the terrorists to enter." May be any one experienced can you help you get the exact solution. Wish you get someone over here... Happy mylotting...See you again and again...

I love your response!, especially the first paragraph, second, and third sentences. Spray them away sounds like a very good suggestion, lol. I had the antivirus system installed when I bought the computer. I see what you mean about the house already captured by terrorists, then it would be difficult for the COPS or SWAT to remove them safe. I'm going to contact at&t, my internet provider and see if they can help me. If they can't, maybe dell can. They are the ones I bought the computer from. I ordered it over the phone, BTW. How do you use the backup and format the system drive? Kathy.

Well Cyrus!!! What I actually do is separate the hard disk into four partitions C:,D:,E: and F: drives. And my system drive is C:. So I format only drive C: which contains the Windows. And my other saved documents, my other required backup of the programs, and other things like songs, videos, all of these are in rest of the drives. You have also use CD drive and other secondary medias for backup too. Another big problem after this is again the virus. It is likely that the virus is already transferred to the backup also. So what do we do. Well basically there are different types of virus. We can categorize into system virus and application virus. I hope the application virus can be removed more easily with the anti virus software. And another is system virus which is most popular nowadays. And most of them comes as a hidden file in each drive we make. When we have already formatted our system drive then still there are viruses in other drive. But your system is not infected unless you open those drives. Once you open those drives, again you are infected. So what you should do is before opening any drive install the anti virus software, that may be from and CD, safe pen drive or internet. Not the infected drives. This will help remove the virus nicely. And mostly if we install the anti virus system after affection only, then though it gets removed, its effects will surely be remaining... Hope this helps...Happy mylotting...See you again...

This sounds a little bit complicated to me. Thanks for the info at least. Another mylotter told me about a virus remover which I have downloaded. However, I found out that if you want the free version, you have to sign up for an offer. I think I'll just stick with calling my internet provider or dell tomorrow. Thanks again. Kathy.

BHO.G is a trojan that allows hackers to access and gives full control over infected computer. I have had similar problems of not being able to remove a virus completely with a freeware antivirus called AVG...but when i ran the test using avira antivir (its 100% freeware antivirus) on the same pc... it was able to eliminate it. Avira is the best freeware antivirus and it also beats most of the paid softwares. So i recommend downloading Avira for free using this link: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html Then run the test and it should b able to eliminate it. btw theres this website which has a manual removal method (but i dont recommend doing it yourself) http://www.scanspyware.net/info/BHO.G.htm (the removal instructions is right at the bottom)

What is quick heal 2009? I might like to try this. Is it free? The reason why I'm asking is because I'm living on a pretty tight budget and I can't afford to spend too much money. I hope you are doing well. BTW, I hope I didn't sound bossy when I told you you need to eat something. That was in my discussion about water. If I did, I'm sorry. I guess I was just concerned about you. Happy mylotting! Kathy.
