Its Saturday, and the Kentucky Derby is on. Its a great time for horse lovers out there. Don't know whose going to win, today, but I know, this though, I'm going to have a great time today!

I used to love watching the Kentucky Derby and I also used to go to Pimlico and to Laurel racetracks in Maryland when I lived there. But I can't watch anymore...not since horses started sustaining life ending injuries. I don't know what's going on with the breeding programs these days but it seems to me that their legs aren't as strong as they used to be.

That is a good observation. It could be something with dietary changes - due too new trends. However, we don't have any accurate statistics giving the number of horses that get injured within and out of races.

I've never known why there's such a hype over a two-minute horse race. Ah, well. To each his own. :)
