Who wins the lottery?

I just have to ask you, does anyone out there know anybody who actually won the lottery? In my lifetime I have not met anyone who won anything substantial on the lottery. Who is getting all this money? I would like to hear from anyone out there who has one the lottery for big bucks or knows anyone personally who has won.

The only one person wining the lottery is the guys who sell the tickets. They win no matter who wins the total prize.

You are so right. My son worked in a gas station and he sold lottery tickets all day every day. And he never saw a winner. I had a friend years ago who also worked at a gas station where they sold lottery tickets. So he started scratching them off, without paying for them, because he figured there had to be a winner that would pay for them and give him some money. Well, he lost his job and got in a lot of trouble.

I don't know of anyone personally but as far as me winning the lottery, I've only won $10.00....lol...That's it! and I continue playing as much as I can. I play Mega Millions, Jersey Cash 5 and sometimes I'll play the scratch-offs but unfortunately I haven't won. I'll continue trying because you just never know. :)

Sorry it has taken me this long. My computer crashed. My son used to work at a gas station that sold lottery tickets. He told me people would come in and buy them like hotcakes. Well, there was an elderly gentleman who came in and bought them every day. My son felt bad and told him one day: "Save your money. You aren't going to win. I see people buy tickets all the time and no one wins."

I live in a small town in Illinois and there was a couple that won from this town a long time ago. They won little over a million dollars got paid so much per year for 20 years. So real people do win the lottery but I will never be lucky enough to win it.

The most I have ever won was $250. That was off of a scratch off when I lived in NY. When I worked at a conv. store in NY one of our regular customers won $10,000 on a scratchoff. He only ended up getting something like $7,000 once Uncle Sam took his share. I don't know anyone personally who has won the "big" lottery though.
