This is a shot of one of the leaf buds on my Kay Grey Grapevine I have in my backyard. They are a green grape with both a tart and sweetness to them. I have gotten a few clusters of grapes the first 2 years. Now this year I hope it does a lot better. So far it seems to be getting bigger. Grapes are hard to grow in Minnesota but I am giving it a shot anyhow. If they do great I'll buy one or two more vines for next year. Have you ever grown your own grapes? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I haven't grown them before but once my mother lived in a house that had grape vines growing. They were green grapes and oh so sweet. I like the sweet green seedless ones myself. I hope yours do good for you this year.

I have never grown grapes. I know that it is possible in Pennsylvania, because there are plenty of local wineries. It does seem like a good idea, because I love to eat grapes! Are the vines hard to take care of? I would be afraid of animals eating the fruit or destroying the vines. How long does it take before you can get some fruit off of the vines? You have definitely interested me in finding out more about growing my own grapes. The picture looked promising - the vine definitely looks healthy.

Here in Minnesota we have a long harsh and cold winter that's why it is hard to grow grapes. But thewy did produce the first 2 years. Not a lot but enough to get a taste anyhow. HAHAHAHA! They are not hard to tend to etc. I have a Beagle and he does not let too many critters around the yard to eat much. Nothing has harrassed the grapes yet. They do love the corn and my lilies though so far. Thanks also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have never grown my own grapes before but we used to have a grapevine in at our home when I was growing up. It produced alot of grapes every year. I'm not sure how long we had it or how long it took for the grapes to arrive in quantity though.

We had grapes one time when I was a child and I don't remember much about it, only that we didn't get anything edible from them. It'd be nice to grow some but I'm not going to try it this year, I'm too busy trying to grow my first vegetable garden. I'm great with flowers so I hope vegetables are as easy.

My brother used to have a grapevine when he lived two villages away from me, and they did very well. Not only did the vine produce grapes but it looked very pretty growing up the wall of the built-on laundry room. The vine was against a south-facing wall and prospered very well there despite the inclement English weather, so I see no reason why you shouldn't make a success of yours. Brightest Blessings.

When I was a kid, we had both green and black grapes. A lot of people in the neighbourhood did. But not since then.

I've never grown grapes, but my daughter and her husband are planning on planting a small vineyard on their new block later this year when they get the house started. Our area has quite a few boutique wineries, and they seem to be doing pretty well and are winning awards. I love green, seedless grapes - delicious!
