I have a desktop computer at home, and also ofcourse at my office. Most of my work is done on the desktop. But, when traveling, I take along a laptop to be able to work on the business related projects, and also to keep in touch with my office. Laptop has become pretty much essential. How abou you ? Do you use laptop ?

i am a programmer,if i donot have a TV,that's OK,no problem, but if i don't have a computer,i will be mad:} I prefer laptop,it is very very connvenient, you don't need to copy your files from your office computer by a portable hard driver or a pen driver, and transfer them to your home compter. This is troublesome,i think. In addtion, using your own laptop can protect your personal information, especially for a business man like you

Very good. You know about computers so well. Yes, I have to keep my business related documentation on my laptop, so I can refer to them even when away from my office. Have a nice day !

if your commercial documentation is important,i recommand you often copy your information to your U disk or mobile hard disk as a backup.Once the computer program crash or are attacted by virus or your don't save your files in time, you'll lost your doucument. I met this situation,it is very terrible.

I have 3 desktop computers at home, and my husband and I each own a laptop as well. I use my laptop all the time when traveling outside so as to be able to surf internet (I have a mobile broadband too), as well as doing other "work". Nowadays, I even use the laptop at home as it's really very convenient as I can use the laptop on the sofa, on the bed, or anywhere else... I do agree that the laptop had become an essential part of my life in these few months, as I had to shuttle from another place (which had no computer & internet) and home frequently. I did not believe in getting a laptop previously before that. I feel that I use my desktop at work, so when coming home, I don't really spend a lot of time in front of my desktop computer. (Yes, I'm currently "not working" now and is on long-term leave for some reason)

If you have a wireless internet system, yes indeed, laptops are so convenient. As you said, one can sit down any where !

Yes, I do agree on this point. I'm currently running on wireless cable internet system in my home, so I can just access anywhere at home. As for outside, as long as my mobile broadband device can detect the network, I can also surf the Internet. However, the only cons is that the mobile broadband bandwidth is a lot slower. In addition, at the other place which I shutter around (I sometimes stayed there for weeks), there are sometimes no internet signal at all.

I have both desk and laptop. I use my laptop more though. I love the flexability that it allows me.

No, I don't use a laptop because I was told a few years ago that they weren't all they were cut out to be unless you were going to travel or whatever. It's possible they might be more improved since then, though. I use a desktop computer, myself. I used to travel a lot, myself, but I can't afford it these days. I enjoy the outdoors and I always thought a laptop would be nice use out on my patio. What kind of business do you have, btw? Kathy.

Hello Kathy. I work in the international trading sector. So, I have to travel quite often, and have to keep my business papers updated. That's when the laptop becomes very handy and useful. Yup, you can relax on your patio with a laptop !
