Would you respond to an old discussion?

Today I was in a race to complete 100 posts, I came across many discussions. A couple interested me and I felt it to be relevant even today. As I submitted my response to it, I saw that the last response was submitted many many months ago. And the discussion itself was years old. There was a discussion which was I think 2 years old. My point here is that do you respond to only the recent discussions or would you respond to discussions which are old but still relevant.

There is no prohibition from responding to those old discussion. if you feel you can contribute to it why not? Well I usually avoid those that are really that old since most of the time the topics are sometimes not relevant anymore and mostly the poster would not reply to your response anymore.

Maybe that will depend on the poster itself. i do respond to my older posts but then I am tempted no to respond anymore.

I would never ignore any response even if I get one four years down the line.

I agree. Most of the times the poster may not respond. But does it matter. Maybe some one will see the discussion and respond too.

I would respond to a discussion which can me millions of years old if it was relevant today. So I see no problem in responding so. Whats the harm. Certain discussions are evergreen. Certain discussions which we thought had become irrelevant over time may gain relevance again. So there should be no harm in responding to an old discussion.

I agree. That if the relevance of the topic has not diminished why not respond.

No, I would still answer the discussion if it is relevant even today and has me interested in it. It does not matter how old the discussion is. I too was initially sceptical about answereing old discussions, but my friends adivsed me to go ahead, even if they are years old. The main thing is that it should catch your interest and that makes you reply to the discussion better. Go ahead and reply to all those discussions you feel worthy of your reply. Cheers.

I do not see a problem in responding to an old discussion if you have a opinion on it.

I agree. Especially if the topic is relevant even today.

Good day, anuraa32. Well, as I had posted on my own discussion, I prefer to post on old topics if there are no new ones. I sometimes dig discussions even it is on 100th page and over. But still, I only select discussions that I am going to respond. I only post when I know something about the topic. Happy mylotting...

I agree boogerman. One can respond to it only if there is something relevant. Otherwise there is no point.

If I am interested the discussion, I will response no matter how long it is. If I can give my advice, I think I also response it when I see the post.
