Monument for fowls!

A demand has been raised in the city of Kolkata(Calcutta} in India to build a monument
for the fowls who are sacrificing their life to feed humans.An organization of Calcutta named "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" raised this peculiar demand. Their argument is these fowls every day sacrificing their lives to fulfill the taste of humans.They have demanded in memory of the fowls the monument to be build in a busy place of Calcutta.The organization has placed their demand to the Calcutta Municipal Corporation. Is it a funny or a humanitarian demand?

Do you think this will make the lives of the fowls any better, will they even notice?
I think India or any country has much more demanding needs then to celebrate a chicken or duck.
