I have been on myspace for a few years now, I never really had a bunch of friends untill I started play the apps. I went from about ten friends I actually know, to almost 1000 friends in just a few months. My wife wants me to start deleting the friends, but I kind of want to keep adding and see how many I can build up to. I is a great network, I have real estate agents, lawyers, soldiers, racers and just about anyone your could think of. I even have Taylor Swift and other famous musicians as friends. Not that they ever write me directly. LOL How many friends do you have?

Personally, I have two kinds of friends on myspace. First are the few people I actually know in person who are my friends and family. Then I have chosen to add friends who are music groups or individual singers. The only reason I have added them is that way I can find the music I want to put on my profile much easier than trying to find it in the dumb search engine myspace has. The music categories are really messed up. I basically used to have a few other friends who came because of the greenspot app. I closed off that app to get rid of the friends because I got tired of all the app invites they were constantly sending and would not stop sending to me even though I asked them to. I really don't like the term "friend" being used for these kinds of places because they are not really friends. They are just people online who are doing the same thing you are doing. To me a friend is much much more. Now I am also using facebook and the only ones I add as friends there are people I actually know in person. Here on mylot I will add friends that ask me to once I check their profile to see what I can tell about what kind of person they are. But in truth, as I was on here before with a different name and had quite a lot of friends, I never spoke to any of them personally, only one by messages, and would never consider any of them really friends. The word "friend" is being misused so much with these social networks. I don't care one bit about how many "friends" I accumulate on these social networks. It's not real.

HI TheAgent, I have just under 1000 friends. I would say that only about 35 or so that I actually know. The rest is made up of bands I like or websites that I like to keep update on. I don't just build up friends for the sake of it though, I just add people or companies that I have an interest in. Most of my friends in my network are horror or Sci-Fi related.

I had around 750, but I just started deleting some yesterday. I've deleted my MySpace multiple times. So this is like my 5th or 6th one probably. If I stuck with one I'd be well over 2,000 being that my friends are the same people most of the time.

Myspace is great for networking and promoting if your into business things. I started myspace in May of 2005 and I had about 200 friends. As time goes on, I stopped talking to people or people's page got deleted so now I am down to about 85! Lately at my place of employment everyone has a myspace, facebook, or twitter to start gathering some people in for business. Now when you start having famous people on your myspace it is getting out of hand just a little bit because 9 out of 10 times they will not reply to you.

I have around 50 friends. I don't add people that I've never spoken to before, other than musicians that is. I do add musicians like Taylor Swift so I can get their updates and such quickly.
