thats like asking to choose between oxygen and water. You cant survive with only one of them you need both. So in this case, We need God and God needs us. Otherwise if he didnt need us, he would not have created us in his image, he would not have even created the earth and the universe, he would not have sent Jesus Christ to die for all mankind. God created us so that he can have fellowship with us, he can be intimate with us, and he can be a father to us all. We need God because we cant function without him.. Everything that you are and have came from him whether you believe it or not. We need him daily, every second, every minute, every hour, every day.

Hello Jelly, I like what you've stated in your response, but it seems like your entire argument is why we need God. God din't create us because he needed us; he created us because he wanted to. He sent Jesus to die for our sins because since Adam and Eve ate the apple, we'd been fecking up royally. You are right that we couldn't function without God, but I think its foolhardy to believe for one second that he needs us for anything.

Well lets take it like this...... God always need us.......he needs us each and every moment that we breath......he expects us to spread his message, which is quite obvious....as he made us in his own image and liking,........and hence he always needs us no matter where we are and what state of life we are living in........ But the other statement that you mention "YOU NEED GOD" It really depends......the actual answer to this should be yes......but humans as we are....we many a times end up saying "i don't need god" i have got brains, and i can use it as per my discretion who needs a super natural being to take over......and this is where the problems star and many a times god gives us obstacles in our ways so that we realize that just as "GOD NEEDS US"......."WE TOO NEED HIM" this has happened to me earlier when i went astray he came and looked for me and brought me back on track.....just like the 100 sheep's parable in the bible...... this is my way of looking at this particular phrase...... Have a nice day !!!!

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the topic. I too have been there, strayed away, and finally had no other option but to turn to God.

I believe that God needs our devorion and availability to share about Him, but He is not depended on us. He is Almighty and if we don't help, He can still manage. On the other hand, I need God, withou Him I can do nothing. I live because He IS. Blessings

To me I'll go for that God needs me. Because during creation He said let us make man in our image or likeness. This show that God needed somebody to have fellowship and friendship with. But the big problem that man repelled againist God, but still God made a way to bring man back to his relationship. The Bible says for God so loved the world. The only thing is that man is a repelious creature. So I support this strongly that God needs us that is why we are told to repent to turn away from our wicked ways, His desire is to see us getting near to Him.

Without God in my life, I would not be blessed with my four beautiful wonderful perfect children. I would not be blessed with my health. I would not be blessed at all. So, I need God.

Do I have to chose just one. God made us because he needs us, he needed the companionship just like we need him in our lives. I believe that both statements are true.

I would love to see the sides of this argument. I would love to know what argument these people have that God needs man. I was raised and have been taught that God is all seeing, all powerful, and all knowing. Yes, he gave over possession of earth to man, and therefore works through people to bless others, but this isn't necessary for him to exist. We may be his subjects in his kingdom, however God doesn't need a single one of us. He loves us because we reflect him, but he does not need us in any way shape or form. We couldn't create a universe, nor animals, nor subjects to obey us, so why exactly would God need us?

Yeah I get what you are saying.... maybe it's more that he really wants us more than needs us. God doesn't want to see any of his children stray or go to hell and not be with him in heaven... he wants every single one of us

Exactly. If we were to disappear off the face of the earth, God would simply create a new race. He doesn't need us, he wants us to love him because we are his children. But as with all children, there are always those that will rebel, not follow what is right, and do our own thing. God will not stop existing simply because man has, but I shudder to imagine what would happen to us if God no longer existed.

Well why can't they be used together, I think they are both true. We are God's creation, his children... what parent doesn't need his children. God "needs" his children to be the light in this world, God "needs" his children to be the voice of truth to the people who don't know the truth. And I think it's evident we need God. When we have no hope or faith we need God to give us that, when we are facing the hardest things in our lives we need God's peace and guidance. I think it all depends on how you look at it... I don't think one way is the right way, I think it involves a little bit of both.
