Were the sequels capable to compare to the original Matrix?

I think they were nice but kind of 'spoiled the magic'. The Matrix stands one feet above the sequels and I would be perfectly ok if it stayed as an 'unicum' and not as a 'first chapter'.
What do you think?

I agree and I like to pretend sometimes that sequiels don't exist.
The first movie is perfectly directed. I feel like sequiels are made of awesome scenes that don't really fit well together to make a story.

I don't like the sequels as much as the original. I've seen Matrix one at least 50 times. I've only seen the sequels about 3 times each.
