Do you think that age is relative like riches. That we only get old as we think we are. and that we are not too old enough to be an achiever. what is too old enough for you to still believe that there is something that you can accomplish in life. do you equate old age with retirement. i would like to believe that even in old age that we can still bear fruit. do you still be able to help than a burden when you are already old?

I agree with your statement that we only get old as we think we are. How can we consider age as a barrier in progressing in life. As long as I am physically fit I would not stop myself from doing what I am doing now. Retiring from active life will only invite old age diseases like diabetes, senility etc to lick on our bodies. I will still engage myself actively in something that are beneficial and fruitful until the day that I can no longer recognize the dollar sign in a note.

i think that is the last thing the elderly forget in life. they don't forget money. usually old folks ask always for money. and they keep money always. they don't want to be without money. i think no one loss memory even in old age in terms of money it is kind of funny and sad to see old folks just have some money and feel that it is all they have. and i don't want to live that way. i want to feel so complete and independent and happy of course in my old age. so i will be always as young as possible.

I believe that the word old has many meaning. For instance, a man who is 35 years old but no experience cannot be called old compared to a 20 year old who had experienced many things. For me, we can truly claim that we are old if we are mature already not because of the age we have but because of the life experiences that we had. An inexperienced person in his fifties has no right to call himself old because he hadn't seen yet the best of life. Age is just a number as they say it....we should not judge a person because of this number but rather, we must pay respect to the experiences.

Hi hotsummer, We are only as old as we think we are. I am 69, will be 70 in a few months and some people think that's old but I don't. There is still much that I want to do and hope that I live long enough to do it. I am the youngest in my family and have 2 brothers and a sister older than me, two over 80. This may be why I don't think of myself as old, also because I have always been healthy although I now have a bad cold that's threatening to take me out of action for a few days. I really think that how we feel has a lot to do with it as well as how old our parents and siblings lived. Society is changing as well and we see older people getting involved in activities that they would not have a few years ago. Blessings.

well,i canot agree with you any more. even i am a young guy now,but i am stil believe i can do anything when i am old enough. cause no one can say no to you except yourself,so if you have some dreams which you too busy ,lazy or something made you cannot to finished, you really should to be action now...then you can make a list to make yourself to be done, and when you finished some items in this list, you can check it as you can say wow,i am still a young man or woman .so good luck! my friend.

yes, we should work hard now. take care of our self now so in the future we can be as young as we can be in old age. and we will not die old but young in old age. i love to see myself as some old folks that can still do some athletic activities in their 80's and 90's though it may not possible cause even now i am not an athletic person. i live a sedentary lifestyle. that is what i am planning to do now. to incorporate some activities in my life without giving up this online activities. i think that i can enjoy both activities without giving any thing up. i think that we should be a balanced person . i am trying to change or modify my lifestyle and my diet so that i will not get any serious sickness in old age. and good health is a reward only for those who take care of themselves. and this one is one hard work too that we should be serious of.

I guess there's no age that really worries me! I'm 34 years of age and I feel very young at heart, even though I don't go crazy and do crazy things. If I get to 90 I guess I will still be maintaining my current attitude. I really don't think that age matters anymore. Age is a funny thing really, I think that age should just be taken away, we don't need it. Andrew

Yes, if a person gets retired then he must be considered old. I mean after getting retirement, either a man can start his own business or will enjoy his life with no work in hand. My uncle, who used to be a Manager in RBI, Reserve Bank of India, is now retired and enjoying his full time with his wife. I can feel that he is not old enough that it will be difficult for him to do new new things.

yes it is good for old folks to relax and enjoy life though they are still strong. but some old folks just love working and so they just don't want to retire.

What I consider too old is when I lose my mind to some disease of the old or even if it's from some accident. If I'm unable to think clearly then I'm too too old or it's that I don't want to live in that state of mind and be a burden on someone else. But then again, how does one REALLY know that I won't pull through? So many have been diagnosed in such a way and later on pulled through to live a normal life. So that said, it's really hard to say.

I believe that as long as we live anything can be achieve if you put your mind into it. Remember Susan Boyle auditioning for the British got talent. they were all Laughing and taunting to her until she started singing. she was never given the opportunity when she was young and yet she didn't give up that hope..

i believe that your only as old as you feel, it doesn't matter how old you are you can still do stuff and acomplish somethings. I just believe that no matter how old you are it doesnt stop you doing stuff it just takes you a bit longer as you think about it more. I agree that its like riches and that it depends on the person and everyone will have their own opinion on it.

Aging is also a matter for life but it is also a fact that the activeness of mind bears the good effect during the life. Age is responsible for old health but mind removes the mood of oldness from life though it is tough to continue it in life always.

aging doesn't matter but getting old without any accomplishment or barely a purpose in life really does matter. you are considered old when you can't do anything good in your life.
