How to connect another pc to the internet for a total of 2 in house?

existing cable internet connection in my office. need to connect one more computer with ? wireless motem? do i have to call the cable company or can i handle it myself?thanks.

Actually you can... Just buy a Switch Router or Hub (it could be an 8-port switch). Unplug the RJ45 connector (basically it is connected from MODEM to COMPUTER) unplug the one that is connected to your computer then plug it to your newly bought switch that I mentioned earlier. It is now connected from MODEM to SWITCH.
After that, get another cable that connect from your SWITCH to your COMPUTER, then get another cable for the other computer.
Then after that, the 2 computers are now connected. If you have DHCP disabled, you might need to configure your LAN IP address manually....

Switch, routers and hubs cost a lot...Will it work if I buy an extra ethernet card and share the internet connection?

Actually, you don't have any other option if you want to share your internet connection to the other computer.
You can connect two computers without a hub or switch but you cannot connect to the internet, because the connection is direct, I mean, the cable is connected from your computer to the other computer, the cable for the modem cant be connected even to one of your computers because there is not applicable...
One more thing, an ethernet LAN card and a switch or hub cost just the same...

Hey here in my country ethernet card cost rs 250 and for switch it is above 1000
