i'm very particular of this budgeting thing. i believe it gives us a guideline on how to have a balanced way of life. i know that some people would rather starve than not be able to send their children to an expensive school. but i view this an unfair. unfair on the part of the child. i mean when he reaches that school, he'd find out that his classmates always eat steak. believe me, i was once like this. so, i did research and i learned that it is only 10% of the budget that should go to schooling. don't ask me about the site. i lost track of it. but do you think 10% is fair?

I think 5o percent should do. Schooling is very important. We must lay stress on education. The competition is on the increase and we must arm the children to do better. I am sorry if I confused your plans of 10 percent, anyway decision is yours. And Best of Luck!! A.J.

What should go towards the school budget and what is actually going are two different things. Parents have no say in this. Schools are always increasing their fee and other dues. Here parents had to go to the court to put a brake to this unjustified increases in school fee.

i like the way you posted it. what should go towards the budget and what is actually going are two different things. i got to post that discussion because we're about to send my child to school and my husband wants the more expensive one. i was once a teacher and i know it actually has a lot more to do also with the support in studying, in the form of teaching, a child receives at home.

I think it should be more than 10% for schooling..these days education is very important and very expensive as well. I don't mind using my budget up for the education of my children--it's just what we can leave/inherit them when we'll be gone.

yeah budgeting now a days matters to a large extent. If it comes in case of your child's schooling, then i advice you to make it to 15% to 20%. Try to make a good budget for your kid's schooling because in today's life 10% makes no way and to get admission in good school you have to cut out. Though you take the admission in a moderate school not too expensive, you have check the faculties and facilities in the school
