Are you always neatly dressed even at home, as though you can go out

Are you always neatly dressed even at home, as though you can go out the next minute if need be? My question is not whether you are always dressed up or if you are in your best party wear or perfectly groomed. It is whether your hair is neat and tidy; your dress is good, during the whole day. If there is an urgent call from a friend who is just down the road, can you just slip your shoes/slippers on, in a jiffy and step out? Or, even if someone turns up at your door unexpectedly, do you ask them to wait and rush to change into something presentable? Dressing up for office is another thing. People who say that they leave right in the morning can take a holiday for example. I used to be neatly dressed, the whole day, earlier; but after relocating I have become slightly lazy. .Earlier, there was a stream of people coming to my place, students, someone or the other and so I always looked presentable. I have decided to follow it once again. Please share what you do.Hope you do not mind this very common topic.

LOL hell no! I usually just hang out in my loungewear or PJs....my hair is always up in a bun but not always a neat one LOL If there is an urgent call from a friend who is just down the road, can you just slip your shoes/slippers on, in a jiffy and step out? Of course...I dont really give a crap if anyone else cares for what i'm wearing or how I look...If I'm roaming around in comfortable clothes and I'm clean then thats all that matters..if ppl dont like, look away...doesnt bother me any

Hi dear, An interesting question dear, you want to get a picture from your friends how good their look when they are at home. For me, my dress will be good but definitely my hair won’t (on holidays). I will take my bath in morning but most probably untying the towel from hair in the afternoon. I have long hair and I don’t want to open the wet hair in kitchen. If I open the same it irritates me while doing work and then it forced me to tide the wet hair so I prefer to keep the dry towel in hair upto finish my works in kitchen.

ha ha... you want to see me, I only said that I have long hair but never said that I am pretty. . I am not a member in both sites. Secret of my hair, credit goes to my mother, (hereditary) she had long, thick, black beautiful hair and none of her daughters got the exact beauty from her (we are three sisters and three of us have long hair).

Most days, I get up and take a shower and fix my hair, brush my teeth and put on make up. I will not generally even go to the mailbox without hair and make up. Now, I may be in jeans or sweat pants and a t-shirt, but I'm not going to be grungy and dirty. If I'm going for the grunge look, you know that I'm sick. Then I stay in the house. I don't think most of my friends have seen me without hair done and at least a little bit of make up on.

Hello kalav. When I am back home, I don't dress so formally the way I work at school. I love to enjoy my leisure life wearing very leisurely at home.

hehe... I am a very lazy person and at weekends, I ususally just stay in the dormitory all day and surf the internet. In most cases, I don't care so much about my appearance at such time. I am too lazy to change into some regular clothes ,thus ,just keeping my pyjamas on.

I'm never dressed to go party but do wear clean clothes and keep my hair neat and clean. I am a bluejean and tennis shoes person unless I have somewhere special to go during the day. If going out for the evening, I dress appropriately. If I had to suddenly leave the house, I'd be presentable. Nobody will ever find me wearing dirty clothes or looking like a major slob. I always have make up on also since that's one of the first thingd I do in the morning and won't leave the house without make up on and my hair fixed.

Thta is itself good enough if we make our hair and face neat.If the clothes are clean and neat that would serve the purpose. Thanks for the response and sorry for the late comment.

It depends on what I have going on that day. If I am cleaning, then I usually have on sweats and may not have combed my hair. However, if I know we are having company or if I know that I have to go out, then I try to at least be in jeans and a decent shirt. I think that it is important to look acceptable when you have to go out in public.

I am usually in jeans and a tee-shirt, i don't were make up, and it only takes a Minuit to run a brush through my hair. The only time that i dress up is when im going some where special.

I'm not a very neat dresser even if I'm going out lol....I'm definitely more into the intellectual than the physical. So, at home, I just room around in my exercise clothes, with my hair pulled back. I look like heck but, oh well :)

I totally disagree. I'm not so self-absorbed or shallow that I feel I have to look a certain way. I'm not vain, sorry

I think you can be intellectual and look presentable all at the same time. I am graduating from university and I do modeling plus 2 other jobs on the side. Intelligence does not condone sloppiness. You can be smart and presentable simultaneously, it is just a matter of personal respect for yourself.

I am not a kind of person who is always wearing cloths which will make him ready to go out at any point of time. I think I am always wearing some ordinary cloths at home and whenever I have to go out I am wearing some good cloths and then go out. I don't like to wear good cloths at home because there life will decrease if I will wear them regularly.

I don't dress as neatly as I am going out, but I just make myself presentable. It's just like you said, someone might pop up at the door or something happen all of sudden that I have to leave the house. I can't just go to my room just to change can't I? That's why it's important to be presentable all the time.

Usually, I just wear whatever is really comfortable. It really depends on what I have to do that day, I plan ahead a little. Normally, I can just slip a pair of jeans on for most every occassion(Not that I run around half naked). I wear shorts most of the day, unless I am out and about, then I wear jeans. I don't really know why, I mean sometimes I wear shorts out, but normally I just don't. Jeans feel more comfortable when I am gone from the house, but shorts feel better while inside. Might possibly be related to tempatures, but I don't know. I've never really ever 'Dressed up' for anything 'cept my High School Graduation. Really. And they assigned a dress and stuff for that.

Actually when I'm at home I wear what I call my play clothes...usually shorts and a t-shirt...I like to be comfortable and if someone stops by, they see me as is. If I'm going out, even to the mailbox, I change and put on my outside clothes. It only takes me a couple seconds and I feel like it's the proper thing to do. i prefer to be in my barest minimum clothes while at home. i generally dont allow anyone into my room, that is my bedroom. the servant is allowed in only to clean the room. i prefer to dress up only if have plans to go out to meet someone. ever since i quit my job in 2007, i prefer to stay easy. and i dont have any busy schedules, that i need to be dressed up for any kind of meeting or appointment.

Hello Kala.....Well I am always modestly dressed at home though i must admit when I am engaged in some tasks like cooking or cleaning,my dress and my hair will become messy unwittingly.....But I do try to be presentable all the time at home ,for when ever the door bell rings it is me who has to answer itmost of the time...Even if my hubby or kids are at home, they usually have to scramble to get their hands on a shirt or comb......I indulge them and and let them relax when they are at home, and am always up and sprinting to the door ,even if I am in the middle of my cooking.....Well I must confess that even though I may appear presentable to the person at the door,if I have to go out urgently on some errand,I would very much prefer to change quickly into something more presentable, before heading outdoors........

Never kala, I am usually in my housecoat. I go for a walk in the morning and then come back and change back into my sack LOL, and then I am in it. My hair is put up in a bun at the top of my head so that it does not come in the way while I am working. But if I happen to go out in the morning, I dont bother to change and keep wearing outside clothes, so people do get to see me decently dressed once in a while at home. Ideally I would like to be wearing neat crisp cotton saris or Salwar kameez with my hair neatly done up, but it is not practical with the kind of life style we lead..

i dont normally get dressed properly when i am at home, i am a man though and i wonder why some ladies around often dressed very well even when they are not planning to go out. It is good for one to get dressed up properly all the time though but not when i am at home, i am as scanty and simple as anything

For women there is abit of 'feel good factor' when they are neatly dressed. They need not deck themselves up but it does feel good to be a bit neatly dressed.
