...the bubbles/froth after brushing your teeth? I often see on movies that some people just spit out the froth then leave the sink without rinsing their mouth. Do you practice this type of brushing?

Yuck! No way, No how. I will definitely be rinsing my mouth out after brushing them. Can you imagine? Getting something to eat or drink after that? Ewwww... Plus, I also like to take the water, after rinsing my mouth, and rinse the outside of my mouth also.

Yeah, very eeew. It's like washing clothes then drying them eventhough they're full of suds then it leaves a stinking smell when it dries.

Hello modstar , I have to rinse out my mouth after I floss and after I brush my teeth. I even make sure I rinse the sink after I do all of these things. I would feel strange to leave the left over tooth paste sitting in my mouth, It Probbaly would not make me feel too well.

I really don't floss because i think it's making my gums bleed and weakens my teeth. I don't know, it's just me.

One time there's was this show on tv, i don't know but it shows some weird stuffs. There was this wedding in China where the groom and the bride would brush their teeth then spit the froth on each of their glasses then exchange them. Then they would drink it as part of the ritual. It was traumatizing for me because i would gag everytime i am reminded of it.

Hi Modstar! You've been conspicuously missing...I hope you haven't been brushing your teeth all this time? I don't usually rinse after brushing. I figure if my mouth is minty-fresh (as opposed to just plain fresh...lol), why would you want to rinse it out? I'm more apt to rinse after eating something like onions and garlic...things I DON'T want to share with anyone I talk to afterwards.

I rinse when I get done brushing. There is too much residue in your mouth to go without.

That's true. I don't think it's a good feeling to leave residue on the mouth.

Of course not. I don't practice such manner. I gargle with water atleast 3 times after brushing my teeth. ^_^

I have a special toothpaste that requires not to rinse after using it. It has a special formula in it that will make the glazing of my teeth harder. My dentist told me I have to use it because I have pretty fragile glacing and this is the only (at home) way to protect my teeth. I use this tooth paste at least twice a day. I can't use any mouth wash afterwards either. The other time a day I brush my teeth I do rinse because it feels a lot nicer and I like to use mouth wash after using my tooth picks aswell. When I use this specific tooth paste I can't, but I want to keep my teeth strong and I've noticed it does help my glacing to stay in better shape. So because I know there are active elements in this tooth paste that will be rinsed out, I won't do so on dentist advice.

True, there is no point in ignoring advice given to you by a men who knows his bussiness. If I want to have healthy and squeeky clean teeth I'd better follow his advice. It's been working great so far, so I have no intention of switching tooth pastes. It might be a bit more expensive, but we only get one set of teeth and I want to be carefull with them. Thanks for the counter response.

Well i guess you really shouldn't rinse. I believe it's important not to when using that special kind of toothpaste. Rinsing it would be like putting an ointment on a pimple then wash your face after few seconds. It won't be effective.

I don't practice half job done. The toothpaste residue will still be there and I need to gargle several rinse of water as I don't like the after taste of the toothpaste. I need to have a really clean and fresh mouth for me to enjoy my breakfast.

rinsing your mouth after brushing is no help as your teeth will not be that strong and healthy still.. My nan and I was talking about it weeks ago during their holiday here, some people do that still--- your can rinse but just once and enough to get rid the froth from your mouth. The rationale of just spitting it and no rinsing is to keep your teeth strong. Nan said that it is "yuck" as others say but it is effective because some of her colleague's teeth are very good. It keeps your teeth strong..

I don't think i'm comfortable with just spitting. That's just for me ok? I don't know about the others.

I definitely rinse after brushing, it is such a habit and second nature that I had to think whether I actually do it! Yes rinsing is for me and in the mornings I like to gargle good old Listerine to keep the breath nice and fresh. I love the feeling of freshly brushed teeth! I like it when the dentist has just cleaned them too!

NO! Duhhh....I swallow it. Toothpaste is very expensive these days to let it go to waste. Freak! Yes, I do rinse my mouth. Do you think I can smile at the first person I see in the morning with all those bubbles or probably whitish residues in my teeth? No way, murray!

Most filipino is the one who i know rinse their mouth after brushing. I see it in movies, americans brush their teeth without using water. They dont wet their toothbrush with water, after putting toothpaste they brush their teeth right away. Filipino usually, clean their toothbrush first with water before putting toothpaste and during washing, they gargle with water everytime until they done brushing.

Yeah i think it's best to moisten then toothpaste first so it'll froth easily.

I do not practise this type of brushing. Yuck! Did you say movies? Maybe... well they do not have enough time right? May be it's the director's lack of 'attention to detail'.

Hello modstar, I always rinse my mouth after brushing my teeth. I won't feel comfortable by not doing the whole process. Maybe it is not a big deal for certain people but for me, it is a big NO. I can't just leave the bathroom without brushing and cleaning nicely...

You know U have thought the same thing. Don't they need a little rinse out of the bubbles or something. Yuck. I have read that it is better to not rinse but I just feel that I need a final rinse to get everything out. Like I would not lather up my dishes and then just shake the suds off. I would rinse the dishes clean to rinse off anything left behind. I think most people would rinse but in the movies it is just too time consuming maybe ???LOL

I always rinse my mouth with water after brushing my teeth. I find it hard to tolerate leaving some taste of toothpaste or bubbles after brushing my teeth. So I always find time to rinse my mouth.

I like the taste of toothpaste whereas I don't really like the taste of plain water so usually don't bother rinsing.

LOL of course i do rinse it with water, most of the Filipinos do that i think. only the foreigners dont practice that,.but according to the dentist its better not to rinse with water so that the fluoride will stay and they will help to protecting your teeth from decaying.

i still used to using water when i brush my teeth. and after brushing when i spit that foamy things from the toothpaste i always rinse my mouth with water. i dont like the thing they do. and im really not used to it. it felt weird and funny though. thats why water to rinse my mouth is my thumbs up sign.
