Electric Shock Dog Collars Great Training Tool or just plain Cruelty?

We've all seen those electric dog collars that are supposed to help you with your dogs barking. If your dog starts barking just give them a zap and they will stop barking. I would never consider using anything like this on my dog. I think it cruel. What do you think about these collars? Humans wouldn't want to be zapped with a taser gun so why would we want to zap our dogs with these collars?

For me the answer is simple. Would you ever put one of those collars on your baby so they wouldn't get into things? I some how don't think so and neither would I. I find it's better to just train the dog not to do things they shouldn't but doing it will love, and a lot of treats instead of torture.

I like your reply , its true whatever we think we can do with animals to make them more good , could we apply the same thing with our own baby?

This is not cruelty. We call this 'brainless inhuman atrocity'. A dog should be taught by it's owner and trained by him or her in a different way. I have a dog at my home who I have trained many things. I never gave her punishments. But love and food. If she does something wrong, i tell her. She just whimpers and hangs her head. Then I go and hug her. She understands my feelings and I understand hers. It's love that rules above cruelty and force.

Its so much cruel to allow this all .Thank god we don't have anything like this in our country but i feel this is extremely bad and torturous job . Dogs are cute pet , if this zap is given to them often then they might think they are given punishment for speaking up and eventually they will start becoming more silent and lonely .
