What is the best, most valuable piece of advice you could give a child? Would it be practical - like "never run with scissors". Would it be philosophical "always look for the good in people and you'll find it" or "nothing great is accomplished without passion".

It would be, and has been, a two part piece. First, you can be or do anything you set your mind to, and second, nothing ever stays the same. If you're in good times or bad, they will change.

One piece of advice I'd give my children (if I had any..lol) or anybody for that matter, would be: Learn the art and skill of conversation. People will tell you everything you want to know.. if you know how to read them. What they say, what they DON'T say.. How they say something.. it's all important. Learn the skill and use it to your advantage.

I raised four kids and told them to do what they knew was right, even if others were doing wrong. They didn't always listen, though!

I always tell my 2 daughters to feel confident as that's the key to success. I also tell them not to do to others what they don't want to be done to themselves. It's cause I do believe in good and bad "karma". I also tell them to watch out for the boys who promise them the stars as they will usually end up giving them nothing but lies.

Geez I have told them so many things lol. But I would have to say the most important one was as long as YOU are happy with who you are...never let anyones negatve opinions bother you, alot of people are just mean, hurtful, jealous and cruel thier opinion doesnt count. Period!

Life is unfair, get used to it. Know as harsh as that, but I would explain that life does not always go your way and your going to have to live with it. Don't plan on having kids for a while though.
