How does one night's lack of sleep affect you?

My 5 month old son was up almost all night. Turns out he was ill. Neither my hubby or I got any real sleep. It felt like we were dragging most of the day. And both of us forgot a few things as well. How well do you function after a night like that?

i quite often have a poor night's sleep and i guess that i have had so many, that it doesnt really bother me that much. i try to compensate for the poor night's sleep by going to bed a little early the next night.

Well it feels like everything is going in slow motion and I my mind is sluggish and I just want to sleep but still the day drags on and on..or so it seems that the day is longer hen I am tired. I do hope he bounces back fast and with the antibiotics I am sure he will.

Hello ersmommy. If I don't have a good sleep for one night, then the whole day I will be very tired and sleepy. Just more than half a month ago, I took a train back to my hometown. I was on the train for twelve hours long. When I got home, it was two in the morning and I did not go to bed until four o'clock. The next two days I was so tired and and started to fall asleep early in the evening. It took me quite a few days to recover from the tiring trip. In fact, it affects me a lot. I know it is not easy when you have a small baby. I wish your baby is getting better now. Happy parenting, friend.

Who me? LOL! I survive, just not well. I'm always better if I get at least five hours of sleep daily. But I can live off less if need be.

Its really affecting if i got lack of sleep. I will be weak in work and need to rest more to fill up that day. If I had work , I used my free time to nap for a while to recover from that situation. After that I will be fine and go back to the normal situation.

The morning after I get little sleep I am normally ok. It is the next day after that when I really am dragging. Sometimes the dragging can last for a few days.

whenever i dont sleep at night, or lack some sleep, i become sluggish, i have a cold, become irritable and i forget a lot of things. of course, we still continue our day bec. we have to, just take a 90 minute power nap, eat food that give you energy (mine is snickers or gatorade) and if im still sleepy.. i drink coke. so i hope this helps you. http://kcatwoman.blogspot.com

The loss of just one night sleep effects me in many ways. The people that I have to be around the next day do not want to be around me because I am grumpy. I do not complete sentences, but I think that everyone should be able to fill in the blanks. Basically I do fine as long as I do not have to talk or be friendly. I hope your little one feels better soon and that you can take a nap today when he does.

well one time we had an overtime in the office and we are like having an overnight and going home at about 10 am in the morning. Without any sleep at all, imagine without having sleep for at least 26 hours. I was freaking weary and my muscles are all weak and tired, and then when I got home, I went to sleep for about an hour and then when I woke up, I was really very very tired. It's hard to function without having sleep at all, it was very exhausting. :(
