Yes it is true that colored clothes fade when dry in sun ,So My dear friend i advice you to dry your clothes inside out when you dry in Sun. I mean to say the side of the shirt which touches your skin should face the Sun and the outer part of your shirt should be in when u dry i.e inside out.

Yes, they do loose color under the sun, not only when you place them to dry off, but when you wear them under it or when you wash it with a strong detergent, specially cotton made clothing.

The sun causes colours to fade. It's the same when you have something in front of a sunny window indoors. The sun takes the colour out of furniture that stands in front of the window. The best way to avoid this when drying clothes is to have them on a washing line that rotates so that they are not in the same place all the time, and to get them in as soon as you can.
