I know that drinking water is good for you, but I have a hard time getting myself to drink it. I will grab something to drink that has more flavor to it. I just don't like the boring tasteless water. As it is the only water I normally get is the melted ice in my soda. What are some ways that I can get myself to drink more water?

Natural form of liquids like coconut water, will do good to your body. Soda's and flavored drinks have calories in them, which will increase your body fat and also will not replenish your thirst. Try adding glucose(powdered form) to your drinking water and see if it helps you in your intake. Or natural juices, with no added sweeteners, or preservatives are highly ideal.

At least most of the soda I drink is diet, so no calories. I have never seen powdered glucose before. Where would I get something like that?

We here in India have something called Glucon-D. I'm not sure if it's available in the US.

It's funny lilybug..start out slow. Just a little every now and again. I swear you will start to just want it after a while. Don't force yourself with huge amounts. Start out with a little at least once a day.

I've tried that once or twice... would force myself to have a small glass of water in between each soda I drank. I could eventually get myself drinking water all the time, but it wouldn't last. As soon as I got a taste of soda, I'd give up the water completely.

What you could do is work your way into being extremely eshausted like working out in a gym or jogging. After that, drink a full bottle of water and that keep doing that everyday if you have time. That will eventually get you into liking water. Water is essential and you can't really substitute it with anything else.

I cannot drink water fast. In the past when I have drank water quickly I get a horrible stomach ache and I end up vomiting. That is not fun.

Try some of the single serve crystal lights. Not exactly water. But from what I hear it is a healthier alternative to the diet soda. They also sell bottled flavored water. That might be fine too.

Crystal Light is no better than Diet Soda because it's full of aspartame. The only difference is a lack of caffeine. Many of the flavored waters also have aspartame... so again, it's not much different than Diet Soda which she's already drinking.

Lets see you could freeze some juice in an ice cube tray and add those to your water. You could start by watering down your sodas. I don't drink that much soda simply because it's too expensive, empty calories, and it's not good for my teeth. Plus, in warmer weather I'd probably drink a case of soda a day, and it's definatly better for me to slam a glass of water than guzzle soda all day. Have you tried drinking it out of a glass you kept in your freezer? I dunno I hate my water too, it's well and tastes alot different than the water I grew up drinking. But after needing to be hydrated alot more during pg's ect I've gotten used to it. THe key is not to think about what it does or doesn't taste like and just drink it.

I try and drink as much water as I can. I know it is good for you and you should have at least 8 cups a day. It is hard to do and I gave up pop or soda for a month and I notice myself drinking it again. It puts on a lot of weight let me tell you. I lost like 30 pounds from pop alone. Take care and have fun friend and make it a great day online.

I'm in the same boat. I've never been a fan of water. When I was a kid my mom never forced me to drink water, I was allowed all the kool-aid I wanted. I was also started on soda very early, so never got the taste for water. I do make my kids drink a lot of water. They basically only have drinks with meals, and if they ask for something in between meals they get water. When they come in from outside they drink water. I don't want them to be like me. For me I find it easier to drink water if it's ice cold. Sometimes it's not the flavor of the drink that matters, it's the temperature. So leave some water in the fridge. Buy a water bottle that has a frozen insert to it. Whatever it takes to keep your water cold. You could also try adding some natural flavor to your water. Make ice cubes out of fruit juice, or just add slices of lemons or limes to your ice water. I truly believe there is something in soda that makes it addictive, so perhaps your first step to drinking more water is to get away from soda. Get away from aspartame too as nobody seems to know for certain whether or not that's dangerous for your health. Start drinking more fruit juice or other natural drinks, and in time you might be fine with drinking a few glasses of water a day.

I do not drink much water either. During the summer months I drink more water than normal, just to have something cold to drink, that is when I find water refreshing. I do not buy water very often either. I know I should drink more water, but like you it is rather boring. I guess if you like sucking on ice cubes, that's a way to get more water, after you have finished your soft drink, suck on the ice. Fruits like melons have a lot of water in them.
