I often had this discussion with my hubby, what would we do if we won a substantial amount of money, we would both keep our jobs and take a vacation and share our health. how about you, would you quit your job, would you keep all the money or share it. would you go on a trip or would you invest in the money.

I would buy a car and a house. give my real friends and family some money and I would also help out a couple of my coworkers and neighbors. I would donate a large ammount to my church. I would also set up an account for my kids. I have obviously thought about this before. I would try to be carefull with it and not just spend it all. I would save some and maybee invest a little.

Well, I'll tell you this much. I wouldn't spend my time on here trying to make one or two cents a post. Actually I probably would. I can't imagine that someone would consider the time spent on here worth while if they only did it for the money. I'm on here because I enjoy exchanging ideas with people. The little money is just a small perk. But I digress. The first thing I would do if I won the lottery is put it in a saving account for a few months until I can think clearly. I would not be thinking too clearly for a while after finding out I won that much money. I would NOT quit my job, since I actually happen to like it, and I'm one of those people who can't stand hanging out with no work to do. So if I'm going to do work, I may as well keep getting paid for it. After 4 to 6 months in the bank. I would put half of the money into a long term stable investment. Like a GIC, which the bank guarantees a fixed return on. Lets say I won 5 million dollars. The going rates for bank GICs even now, with the low interest rates, is about 4% (this will go up a few points in the next few years). Putting 2.5 million away in a 4% GIC means that I will get $100,000 in interest every year. Not a bad guaranteed yearly income. Besides, in addition to the $100,000. I will still have the OTHER 2.5 million to play with.

Should I, just in case because I do sometime play the lottery. If it is that big, I will divide into half the money. A portion of the half I will share with all the members of the family, relatives and friends, share a portion to the poor and needy, the church and to pay for my accounts. The other half I will invest and enter into business and enjoy my life.

If I won a lot of money then the first thing I would do is concern myself with paying off all the bills that I have. Then, only then could I really enjoy what the rest of the money had to offer me. I'd probably look for a house, buy myself a new car and work on other things like helping family members with bills and their debts not to mention probably some home remodeling. Some people could really use it.

Well, if I won the lottery I would have a slightly difficult way to use the money. First of all though I would pay of my and my partner's college debts. We have so much debt at the moment it's just horrible. But I wouldn't keep the money all for myself. I'm not that selfish. I would help my parents pay off their debts as much as they would let me to. Maybe pitch in a bit to finish off the house as well. But it wouldn't be only my family either, I would see if there were something I could do for my partner's family as well. Seeing as we are together, I consider them part of my direct family as well. I want to help her family as much as I could too because her grandfather can't take care of her grandmother as well as he'd like since she has Alzheimer's. I would also see about buying a good vehicle for my partner and I seeing as she needs a new one after this year and I don't even have one at the moment. I would also like to pay for a nice apartment for my partner and I.

I would make sure my family was all comfortable then put most of it in the bank to keep until I made decisions about which charity or organization would benefit from a contributions. I wouldn't give it all away, but make sure I shared the wealth with others.
