Last November I was walking with my children around the block, it was after we had eaten Thanksgiving day lunch, I stepped off of a curb and broke my left ankle, and had a grade three sprain. I underwent 12 weeks of OT, was in a cast for two weeks, a boot for six weeks and brace for four weeks. It was not fun. Fast forward to now, I went in to have an MRI on my foot, as it is still swelling and rolling. I get the MRI and today went for the results. Good Grief Could I screw it up any worse...
I have torn, in fact he said it looks as if someone took scissors and cut my tendon from top to bottom, my ligaments are just floating in my foot, not attached to the bone at all on both sides of the ankle and I have several bone fragments floating around. So the only option is surgery. I am not going to do it till fall, when the kids go back to school. But man could I please get a break (and not a broken bone) here..
Has anyone had ankle surgery? What should I expect

Ouch! I think I would go ahead and get this taken care of so as not to injure it anymore. It's not like you can't use your foot you know? I hope you are not in too much pain and good luck with your surgery.

I know but it is not a good time, my husband is changing jobs, he starts the new on e on Monday, and I would have a difficult time managing the children, on crutches and recovering from surgery. So we are going to wait till they are in school..
