How Low Can You Go?

Yesterday afternoon a man was killed in a motorcycle crash and as he lay dying on the road some S.O.B stole his motorbike! The 37-year-old later died from his injuries after being taken to hospital. According to the radio news report witnesses saw some ‘unknown’ persons arrive at the accident scene and take the bike by loading it on the back of a utility. Do you believe this? How low can some people go? Can they go any lower?

Motorcycle is a very risky vehicle and is not suitable for any kind of weather. You cant drive it when it is very hot outside nor cold or when it is raining and i have seen people getting hurt a lot..Why even i got one of my ligament of knee fractured because of motorcycle and had to have plaster over it for 4 weeks. About this well this is nothing what i have seen. I been to casualty of hospitals many a times and know that many a times even wallet of the injured is taken away. His gold chain or if he is wearing gold ring ( many Indian guys wear them) and i have seen children refusing to give blood to save life of mother.. this was i think was the most lowest thing i can ever see and me and my friend had to donate blood for that old lady.. As is it custom here that you get blood only if you donate and though her children didnt know that even if they wont donate , she wont be allowed to die because of non donation but then blood banks do need blood to give to those who need in large quantities and have no one to give and since Indian dont donate blood easily so it has to be this way but that was pretty low.

The children wouldn't donate blood for their own mother???Did I read that right? If I did...OMG! That is lower than low and I would hate to ask the reasons why. The world can truly be a horrible place sometimes due to inhuman actions, too sad for words...

The scene of a herd of distressed and weeping elephants standing around and trying to revive a dying calf and a herd of buffaloes shepherding the mauled calf to safety loom before my eyes.Man is the most barbaric and worst animal. His mind can turn in to a fathomless dark and vile pit crawling with the most creepiest things that belong to hell.

No comparison between the compassionate and reasonable animals and cruel and unreasonable humans. It is demeaning the poor animals.

I love your choice of words balasri, well said. It saddens me so much that some humans beings are capable of such vile acts! A lot of animals would react in a more civilised manner for sure! Thanks for stopping by...

Personally this is pretty Low, and unless they were a Good friend of this person why do something like this? How could they even think they could get away with this? To me this shows no heart, and an uncaring person only thinking about themselves, but many times you will hear of stories like this even stemming from other accidents, etc. and it makes you wonder why?

I know... It reminds me of the people who run around stealing from stores and abandoned houses whenever there has been some kind of disaster and folks have had to evacuate quickly; it is beyond low and it do wonder whether there is some kind of mental or personality disorder that stops all feelings of guilt connected with having a moral conscience!

I must say... I have never heard of such a thing before. But there is no doubt that there is a portion of society who has no morality whatsoever... and will commit theft or any other crime at every opportunity. After all... this is not so different of the looting taking place as soon as there is a natural disaster. As the population increase... the competition for survival increase. And as the competition increase... our civilisation takes a turn backwards. Humans becomes hunting animals again. Because like it or not... Nature dictate that we do whatever it takes to survive. If your life depends on killing the little old lady next door in order to steal her loaf of bread... You will kill the little old lady. After all... half of the convicts sent in Australia... were sent here for stealing a loaf of bread... without killing anyone. So... while we might think we have made progress into being civilise... If like in America... you leave the poor behind and sleeping in the gutter... you are creating a society of criminals who will eventually take you down.

Humans are good as long as there is no money involve. And since money raise its ugly head in everything and everywhere... humans only motivation is greed. I actually heard a story not unlike yours. A guy has a car accident and write off his car in the middle of the bush on a dirt track. He goes to hospital to get patch up for minor injuries. By the time he comes back with the tow truck a couple of hours later... he find two guys there ready to strip his car.

This incident happened yesterday afternoon here in Perth. I appreciate what you are saying but I would have thought that human nature had come a long way from the old days and up until now I have been naive enough to believe that humans are basically good, so I find it so sad that we can be like this to each other. What you say makes me consider the idea that we may be bringing this upon ourselves and it is really heart breaking. Thanks for a thought provoking response.

Remember, what goes around comes around and that low life will get his one day. We may not see it but he will get his one day. God is in charge and He will see to it that this scum bag gets punished. All I know is, I'm glad to NOT be in his shoes on judgment day! Whew wee! No thanks!!

Did you watch a movie named, "Sixth Sense" *ing Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this movie you can see a guy is taking other guy's cloth when he was dying, right at the end of this movie. So, people are senseless these days and money is above every thing. I am not going to answer this question because I don't want to be a liar next day! You never know what life has written for you!

The negative sides of human behaviour never cease to amaze me. This is as bad as the looters that come in after floods and other natural disasters, or the people who go around cemeteries and steal offerings people leave their loved ones. There are always going to be people looking to benefit off of the misery of others like this and it's absolutely disgusting. I hope they find the people that took this motorcycle and nail their arses to a wall. Scumbag..... It's a pretty accurate word to describe these people I reckon!

Very well said James. They dumped the bike the next day but I doubt that their conscience is niggling them because to do something like that in the first place they can't possibly have any sense of decency. Scumbags, low lives are definitely very accurate descriptions!

I don't think anyone can stoop any lower than that. And here I thought the bird (which happens to have a bad leg) that was stolen from the local bird shop a few months ago was as low as it gets. It's still low, but this has got to take the cake! Some people are really pathetic, aren't they?

Hi. Don't know whether some can surpass that thing but it is really really bad. Instead of trying to help that person they did this! At times man can be worse then any animal we have ever heard of.

I agree coolmailraj that is why it saddened me so much that there are humans that would do that to each other! They have dumped the bike and I hope it's because conscience has taken over and they may give themselves up but I wouldn't hold my breath!

That is just so wrong. Stealing a person's bike! I know this sounds awful but I wouldn't want to steal something that I just witnessed someone get killed because of! I hope that the police find the people who stole the bike and get it back and give it back to the family if nothing else.

people are very unpredictable, it is shocking to know that in the midst of an accident there would be someone who would be so bad by taking the property of the person and even let someone die? when i see accident that happens right in front of me, i can't stand just to watch it, especially when there is no policemen or any medical professionals who would attend to the victim of the accident. what if it happens to me, i would feel bad when they would stare at me and let me die in pain.

See now as being a fellow motorcyclist i hope the people that stole that bike get the worst karma that could ever be received and die as well. I mean that is just totally asking for it if you ask me. Did the news say that it was stolen or was it the salvage yard company coming to pick up the bike? I mean wasn't there any cops at the site? Or was it just they saw it happen and they just came and got it right at that moment. That's totally messed up because nobody would do that with a car. I hope karma gets them and i feel for the loved ones that knew the motorcyclist. RIP.

Apparently the bike was actually stolen; it was dumped the following day and found by Police. It was an impressive Harley Davidson and some low life or lives decided to take possession of it under such tragic circumstances. I believe Karma will prevail and the person or persons involved will 'get theirs'! Thanks for responding dookie, ride carefully!

That is awful. I am a serious believer in Karma so I wouldn't want to see what Karma has in store for the theif. But the thing that is so disturbing to me is not just the fact that he actually took the man's motorbike without helping him, but he did it without a conscience or second guessing what he was doing. He totally disregarded that man's life for a material item, it gets no lower than that.

How low? Now there's a loaded question! Yesterday, my daughter's school hosted a special guest speaker. An 85 year old Polish gentleman who survived Auschwitz. The poor fellow couldn't get through the presentation without breaking down several times. It was horrible what he witnessed in those camps. After hearing the depths of degradation those poor people were subjected to, NOTHING suprises me. You know what I was suprised about? I've never seen so many hormone crazed teenagers in one place, be so quiet for so long. You could have heard a pin drop.

Wow, that would have been intense...It is not nice to hear about atrocities etc but it is vital to learn that they happened along with their moral infringements. So many live their lives totally ignorant of suffering that has, and is still occurring, in the world. It is knowledge that is essential to have, I think.

That is horrible. Society is just getting lower and lower. It reminds me of last year in Connecticut (I think) when a man was run down by a car and people were just going about their business not at all interested in helping this poor man. Then another car runs him over. A man on a motorcycle drives by turns around to check the guy out and then proceeds to leave. It was horrible. I remember in my younger days something happen to someone everyone ran to help out. Not anymore, either they stay away or they steal the poor victims belonging. Disgusting!
