A Cat in China grows wings! and it is not the first time.... http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/30967440/ how bizzare is that? is it a mutation due to chemical exposure or is it a manipulation of gene mutilation? or? would you like to have a "winged" kitty?

we have a kitty right now that has 7 on one paw and 6 on the other. While I have seen 6 many times and again - this is the first I have seen with 7. The multi toed cats do present themselves as being more savvy, smart, and amiable in my experience. lol about the batta-bird!

The kitty reminds me of the jackalopes of Wyoming. They are jack rabbits the have horns. In reality it is disease of a growth that looks like horns.

wow, I thought the "jackalopes" were completely fictitious. I had no idea there were some with such afflictions. what we are doing to this world. *sigh

Some jackalopes have had antelope horns put on their heads by taxidermists as curiosities. but the rabbits with the growth have been around long before they were used as a tourist attraction in Wyoming. These animals were noted way back in the 16th century. It is a disease or a virus called papillomatosis. It is caused by a parasite.

That's amazing! It looks rather cute. I'm glad it doesn't hurt the cat and that the cat is happy with all the attention. Thanks for sharing.

I am glad it does not injure the cat too... but it does give concern about what causes such mutations and is it not a warning ? imagine if people started growing these odd protrusions off of their spines... shudder.

hi youless, is this a common looking cat in China (I mean if it didn't have wings) It is so cuddly looking, while I am fond of our common domestic american cats - it is really quite different looking.

No....if it had a sour disposition and wanted to attack people like a cat my sister used to have.....it could be very dangerous.....and since it had wings you would hate to have to confine or destroy it....
