i would be a hypocrit if i don't appreciate expensive gifts like cellular phones and jewelries but i should say that i appreciate more those gifts which are personalized even less expensive like cards with personal messages and drawings. but of all the gifts i really appreciate the flower given by my boyfriend on my first birthday with him as my boyfriend. it's an artificial flower with something special in it. can't elaborate further. it'll lasts longer than a fresh flower which makes it a good gift. cheap, simple, and ordinary yet practical and special.

When I was 12 my father got me a horse and tack. That horse was my friend, confidnt, my escape, transportation, and built my selfestem when it was very low. He was a matchmaker, gave me undonditional love and boosted my individuality. In other words, it was a gift that kept on giving.

The best gift I ever received from my former friend (now my husband) is a Swatch Wrist Watch. It was bought in Hong Kong and that was his present to me when he arrived last 2007. That was the best gift I ever received from him because no man will ever spend too much on something if he has no feeling for a girl. Of course I knew it but then we never really spend too much time together. He is the one who gave me a lot, from jewelries to flowers. He also gave me cellphones, yes cellphones. I think the way he gives the gift is what makes it more special because they are mostly given as surprises. And I also received gifts from him as simple as letters that I still keep until now and read sometimes to make me feel happy.

I agree, I really don't want to receive expensive gifts it makes me feel I owe something to the person giving me. I prefer cheap stuffs yet memorable.

The most special gift that I had got was a handmade card from my partner. I don't believe that a gift has to have monetary value but more importantly is the thought and emotion that goes behind the gift to make it special.

the thing that means the most to me right now are the things that my children make for me. There is nothing better to me than a sweet picture that they have drawn or a hand print in paint. Priceless

Special gift for me doesn't always have to be expensive. The most special gift I have ever received is a golden ring from my boyfriend. He gave it to me and proposed me to marry him. I said I do, and now we are husband and wife :)
