My question is if you are able to get your credit report free every year, why can you not get your credit score for free? They all advertise free credit score, but it's only the trial thats free. I want to know my credit score, I just don't want to pay for it, or get have to put my credit card number down to just to call and cancel it then deal with the "well, knowing your credit score is very important, we can give you the offer of three months for x amount of dollars."

I know its not right I find it unfair. Now a few years ago they use to give the credit score was free but than I feel they saw a way to make money and said alright free credit and pay for the score. I think if you really look online you might be able to find somewhere that gives out a free credit score. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

I have yet to find one, but if anyone out there knows please let me know. I have been looking but it always like the scam of the heading, then you read further and they charge you.

I wish I could tell you where to get a REAL free credit score, but I don't think a place like that exist right now. Just a few months ago I had a credit card that gave you your free credit score every month. It updated every month. It even gave a brief reason why your score was what it was. I LOVED that service. The company Washington Mutual was one of the banks that failed during this bad economic time. So, that service is no longer availble. Chase bought WAMU and they do not offer a free credit score just those sevices that you have to pay monthly for. Of course why would Chase turn free if they have already been getting people to pay for it. The credit scores are just as important as the report itself. I have no idea why they would not be required to give it out free once a year, like the full report. I wish they did.

well unfortunatly that is a bussiness for them to gram some money from people who wants to get the credit score. but rather than waisting time to see the credit score you can build your own credit score in lots of methods.

I presume that you are aware of the fact that you can get your credit score directly from the credit agencies for free once a year. It will not be exactly the same score that lenders and credit card companies see, but it will give you a good idea of what is on your credit report that they see. I just recently did this after I got turned down for a private student loan. The real sad part was that I had been turned down because of a brand new account; a credit card account that was brought up (therefore a new account) by the same company that turned me down for the loan. Real funny, isn't it?
