The first eight years of childhood are critically important, particualrly the first three years. They are the foundation of future health, growth and development. During this period. children learn more quickly than at any other time. Babies and young children develop more rapidly and learn more quickly when they receive love and affection, attention, encouragement and mental stimulation, as well as nutritious meals and good health care.
