Do you have a good handwriting?

China

Hello mylotters, Do you have a good handwriting or not? Is it important to have a good handwriting? In China, there is a saying that we can judge a person by his or her handwriting. It means that your handwriting is a reflection of you in some degrees. Do you think so? Have you ever practised writing and writing in order to make your handwriting perfect?

Unfortunally I do not and I think that when I was a kid my handwriting was better than now. I don't like to write letters or even write more than Happy Birthday on a birthday card. I say that my handwriting is worst than a Doctors note because most of the Doctor write in a way that only they can understand. I have a notebook were I write things that I have to do like Doctor appointments or when I have to pay a bill and the amount etc. And sometimes when I'm looking at my notebook to find some information I can't becasue I don't understand some of my own handwriting. I do practice sometimes to make my handwriting better but I get bored because the more I try it seams that its not working. I hope that someday I will make my handwrinting better maybe not perfect but good enough to understand.

i don't have a good cursive or longhand writing. but way back then when this was a subject in elementary school i was quite good at it. i guess it takes practice and constant usage to have a good handwriting. i somehow think of it as an art form like drawing. it is only in constant use and talent in this art form can one come up with good cursive or longhand. i do print or write nicely in block letters . i was once fascinated by this handwriting interpretation stuff but the only thing i remember, since it applies to me, was when letters that are supposed to be open (like the a's, e's, o's and the likes) are closed the person tends to be secretive.

Cursive writing - An example of cursive writing
I have terrible handwriting and yet I love to write. These days I print instead of using cursive so I can read what I write. I never really had pretty handwriting . I think I write too quickly. I love to see Chinese Script. It is an art form.I wish I could learn how to write it, but I think i couldn't be relax enough.

I dont have good hand writing but i am always trying to improve it, whenever i look at good hand writings i got some complex in my mind and i got soo shy to write anything while i am in ppllzz. I want to share other part you mentioned that we can judge someone by his handwriting, Believe me i have an old person in my locality he can exactly tell the whole personality and even some disease if you have just by observing your handwriting. I have experienced personally this is a great art.

Sorry, I don't have a good handwriting. And maybe it is true that a good handwriting can help us do better in our communication with others and even our job. But I don't think we can judge a person simplily by his or her handwriting. Maybe somrtimes I would pratise writing, but it seems hard to improve my handwriting. Maybe because now less and less people use pens, and less and less conditions in which we would use pens.

I used to have a good handwriting way back in high school, but not so good. I bet it is important to have a good handwriting, 'coz yes, most of the time, people tend to judge or picture out your personality via handwriting. But now, since everyone is using computers, I haven't practiced handwriting anymore.

Yeah, hand writing pretty much grants a person to see what kind or type of person they are. If you write small, it seems like you don't have a lot of confidence about yourself and when you write with a lot of curves, it implies your a creative and artistic. I really like to practice my writing and I recently started when my student tried to write in cursive. I always wrote in print before but, if I have free time, I really would like to write in cursive again. (^_^ )

Hello happyforever! I always have had a good handwriting. I know how write well in print. I also know how to write well in cursive. My father always reminded me of how well my handwriting should always be since I was younger. I enhanced my handwriting especially when I was in high school.

My penmanship is all right. I think it's good but it's not the prettiest handwriting in the world. At times that I need to jot down notes, I would have taken down the most stuff compared to those around me. However, my handwriting would be very bad. Also, I have a very messy paper when I make drafts. When I'm not in a hurry, my handwriting is nice and legible. Hmm, that's interesting that a handwriting could be a somehow a reflection of a person. I think it could be. There are times when psychologists (or psychiatrists?) and forensic analysts do some handwriting analyses.

Hi happyforever, Yes, I would say luckily I have a good handwriting at least you can admire..yes, one can judge with the help of handwriting as handwriting says a lot about once personality and behaviors. I think for some people, good penmanship comes naturally. For others, it's a struggle just to make it legible. If you fall into the latter category, there are ways you can go about improving your handwriting. You know, frustration with handwriting can lead to lack of confidence in many other areas. Thanks.

I live in China before, and I heard people saying that too. But that is not entirely truth though. Some people have pretty hand writing, but their personality can be despicable, don't you agree? Oh well, I am not saying I am a perfect person, but I admit that too, my handwriting just not pretty at all. Well, we are using computer day by day, I just have few hours to practice my writing as well.

My penmanship sucks right now. I remember the term my mom would call it, chicken scratch. I have different penmanship over the years specially when I was young and tend to imitate my classmate's penmanship. I really can write neatly if I want to, but I guess my penmanship now reflects the kind of life I have. Always on the go. That's why it looks like all the letters are not in place because I just can't wait to be done with it. In my rush, sometimes I can't even understand my own hand writing!

here at my place, good handwriting means, you're not attractive. bad hand writing means you're handsome or beautiful. but that's all taboo to me and i don't believe it. and in your case, i don't feel that handwriting reflects who you are. you might want to check this out..www.spring.org.uk/2008/03/graphology-connections-between.php

Hi, my friends always told me my handwriting looks very very beautiful, maybe they are right, haha! I had taken a calligraphy exercise for several years and so make writing speed more high and higher quality. Frankly speaking, a handwriting whether good or not does not reflect a person's culture, but it means one's habit or need. Take me as an example, several years ago, I writed much slowly and so does my life rhythm, now I have been working many years and in some situation I have to sign my name or write an document for the sake of work, so there's no doubt a high speed and beautiful writing should be taken consideration

My handwriting is very very bad. In fact I dont think I have seen anyone writing any worse than me. I hardly ever write because now everything is on computer. And I have not taken any trouble to ever improve my handwriting.

I like to think I have nice handwriting. I was taught the correct way to write by a teacher who was quite strict about calligraphy. I don’t know how much of it I can remember but it trained me to pay attention to the way I write and being the neat freak that I am, I like it to be precise! It would be interesting to know how I would be judged in China because of my handwriting.

I have very good handwriting. I like to write in cursive, it's fun and it's pretty when you are done. If you have nice handwriting, people notice that. Whenever I go anywhere to sign my name on anything people always comment on how they can actually read my signature. Handwriting might not fit every situation, as we get old we find the use for it diminishes, but that doesn't mean that it isn't important anymore to have nice handwriting.

Hi there happyforever! Good day to you. I think a good handwriting is really important! Especially in my field, I am a nursing student and when I am in the hospital and in duty, when I read the doctor's order, some of them do not have a good hand writing and it effects your efficiency because you'll have a hard time reading and understanding their order especially in terms of giving the proper medications. A good handwriting is proportionate to a good communication skills because writing legibly is equivalent to speaking clearly. So I think if you want the person in whom you are talking to understand you, you must speak clearly. Also, if you want the person in whom you are writing to to understand you, you must write legibly. :)

I dont think that person can justed by his handwriting. As my mother lang. is Marathi and I know my Marathi writing is good. But by English is not that amount of good one. There is contradication so how can you juse me on our handwriting. I see lot people with their handwriting but I dont have such type of exp for the same. I agree with you that being good handwring get good first impression if we are doing some kind of peper work with any one.
