Finicky cat

I have two adult cats and they are very picky about what they eat. At this moment they are very content with eating tuna and fancy feast, but with the finicky behaviour they have had in the past they might snub the canned food next month:-) What causes some cats to have such a finicky palate?

I think that some cat's become finicky when they find something they like to eat, then once they have a favorite they expect to be fed this each and every time it's meal time. I have a cat that is finicky as well when it comes to eating certian type's of foods. I use to have 2 cat's that would eat table scraps, but my young newer cat sticks his nose up at table scraps and only wants tuna, fish flavored canned cat food or dry cat food, nothing else, he doesn't even like chicken or beef.

hi, your cat is not alone in liking only seafood flavored cat food. my cat riley will not touch beef or chicken either.

I don't really know. I'd like to think that they are just like us and have their tastes too. I'd have to think that the reason they'd hate a food after a month is the amount of times they eat it. I have gone through a lot of dry catfood in order to find the best one that is healthy for my cat and one that she will eat. I usually will notice if she is not eating enough by the amount of weight she loses from not eating. I have found that the frisky's seafood sensations work for my cat, but it is not a healthy brand for cats, and thus in reality it is more expensive because they have to eat more in order to feel sustained. I have finally found that my cat will eat Max Cat indoor formula, though.

Who knows? But if you figure it out let me know. Be sure not to feed you cats too much tuna, its doesn't have all the nutrients they need and could lead to health problems.

I know cats love tuna, but be careful feeding too much of it to your cats. For one thing, fish increases the chances they will have urinary tract problems down the road, and tuna and other fish that are high on the food chain are also high in the mercury levels.
