Do You Go To The Movies

Do you go to the movies often? If so how much does it cost each time, there's the cost of getting to the cinema, the ticket, food and drink (must buy it at the cinema, can't take your own), after movie drinks or maybe you go straight home. Well, I was recently turned on to downloading movies in torent file format from the internet. It's easy and you can get to see most of the latest movies for free. I just watched a couple of movies that aren't in the cinema here yet. It's cool, easy and free and I can watch the movies in my own home. What to you do?

I used to go to movies a lot. Now a days I lost interest. Movie theaters are far away from my current residence. It takes one hour to go there, movie for three hours, and an hour to be back. It takes almost a day. So, I prefer to watch movies at home with my husband. It will cost $6 - 8 for a person includes transportation and some drinks, but I am more concerned about the time spend. Most of the Indian movies are 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

daliaj You're the perfect candidate for downloading the latest movies from the internet. We're about 2 hours away from our nearest movie theater, along with the expence thats why I started downloading them.

When we go out for a movie, we usually wait until a movie has passed out of the first run theaters and has started playing at the second run theater. On Tuesday nights, movie tickets are .75 cents per person, so it's just $1.50 for both me and my husband. And we actually do take our own drinks in, because we refuse to pay the concessions prices at the theater. I just put the drink bottles in my very large handbag. We don't download movies, because it just takes up too much space and we prefer to watch movies on a screen larger than either of our laptops.

WOW, thats a good price for a movie ticket, here in Thailand it's by far more expensive. Downloading movies doesn't take up too much space, 700Mbt or thereabouts for a normal full length movie, and you can delete once you've seen it or you can burn it to a DVD. I actually store the movies I like on an external hard drive and hook my laptop (where I've downloaded the movie to) to my TV through video out (on the laptop) and S-Video in (on the TV). We've got a 50 inch TV so its a decent size picture.

I love going to the cinema to watch movies but it doesn't stop me buying them if they are good. It's great as the picture is so much bigger and it sounnds a lot better too thats if you don't have noisy kids sitting behind you talking and throwing food around. Off to see National Treasure 2moro, booked tickets today

Actually I am used to watch movies from my laptop at home. It has been more than four years since I have gone to the cinema and now I think I should be going to see the change over there as reading your discussion is making me having the feeling to go once over there. I have a olletion of horror movies at home and most of the movies are not yet played in cinema so I am lucky to have already seen them at home. I prefer watching movies in my laptop.

Yeap when you think about everything you have to spend to watch a movie, it gets pretty expensive. Over here a new movie cost about 8euros ($10?) then the popcorn, drinks so before you know you are hitting like $20) for one movie... Yet I still do it if I like the movie. Once I got a new movie on DVD, but I realy wanted to see it on the big screen, so I went to the cinema to see it and the next day I watched it again at home lol. So it depends on the movie, if it's very good I go and see it on the big screen

Movies in New York City, near where I live, are $12 so I don't go too often. I borrow DVDs free from the local public library, with has a very good selection of movies old and new. I don't use torrents because they're illegal, and also I know of some people who have gotten viruses from using them.

We don't go to the movies that often, if we do it may just be once a year, even then I'm usually taking one of my nephews, because my husband won't go to the movies. It does get expensive, I think for two of us, including drinks and popcorn and maybe some candy its about 20.00 and that's during the daytime matinee when its cheaper, I expect its more expensive when you go in the evenings. It would be cool if you can watch free movies at home and save some money. We usually wait till it comes out on video then rent it.

We have some dollar cinnemas here. It cost $2.50 and evening $3.50. It cost more for the soda and popcorn. But i cant find then on my browser anymore. I used to watch previews and pick at least 2 movies to watch. And they allowed food and beverages from places in that strip mall. However since ive not been able to pre view them i havent been there in over a year. At least since i didnt have a car. Its better to watch movies at home i think. You can pause to go potty of get foods or beverages. I have my own miniture popcorn popper like the movies have. so im set right here. I have thought about joining netflex or 1 of those rental places where it cam be done through the mail. But im not sure how it works

I do go to the movies quite often. I really love going to the movie theater. It is one of my favorite things to do. It feels like an escape for me. It is quite expensive though. The tickets usually range from $7.00 to $10.00 each time. The popcorn and drinks cost around $16.00. So, going to the movie is not cheap. I have never downloaded a movie from the internet.

We have not been to the movies in over 3 years. We rent them to watch and some of them we get a dollar credit on if they are returned the next day before close. My grand daughter has her dvd's that she likes to watch. She is 3 years old and does not understand the renting a dvd to watch and then having to return it. We buy hers and rent ours.

I usually wait until the movie is on Walmart's 5 dollar rack! Haha, it makes more sense for me. But, if a date wants to spend money and take me to the movies, I have no problem with that either. I guess it just goes for whatever costs less for me. I will do just about ANYTHING to save money. Haha.

No,I do not go to the movies anymore. It has been about 10 years since I went to the movies. At that time it cost $4.00 for each of us and then the popcorn and drink cost another $6.00. To me that was just to expenses. I am sure now it would cost alot more.

We do not even go to the movies once a year. It has been a couple years since we went to on. It is just so much cheaper to view a movie at home on PPV. It is much cheaper and we do not use up the gas in the minivan. We can eat our own popcorn and wear what we want to be comfortable. Nope no movies for us

I dont usually go to the movies - maybe once a year. Cheap night at the local theatre is 5.00 right now (i went about a month ago) the drinks and stuff are over priced so as badas this sounds my sister and i sneak bottles of water in in our purses and candies in them or in our bunny hug pockets. I'd rather rent the movie than download it - downloading it is basically stealing it unless you're doing the netflix download...plus think how long a movie would take to download on dialup. The rented movies look better and i dont feel guilty about it.

My husband and I have been together for 6 1/2 years and married for 5 and we have been to the movies 3 times..once with kids. It is way too expensive to go to the actual theater. For just the 2 of us to go it was around $20 and that was with us sharing a drink and popcorn. Even thought he kids like to go to the movies it is so much easier to watch a movie at home...you can pause the movie to go to the bathroom, make more popcorn, etc... plus you can lay out pillows and blankets and be completely comfie!

I use to go all the time even if I had to go by myself. Now it is harder since I don't really have the time and even the cheaper movies are not that affordable for me. I also don't keep up enough with the movies that are coming out so I very seldom know what is playing. I do watch some of the DVD's that other family members bring home but I don't really buy them myself.

No, I do not go to the movies. It probably has been at least 1 1/2 years since I have been to the movies. But, it could have been longer. It is too expensive to go to the movies. To buy tickets just to see the movies are at least $7.00 I think and then we usually buy a bucket of popcorn & 2 cokes and all of that is at least $20.00. Now, you see why I do not go to the movies. It is just too expensive.
