I bought the Sims 3 and my computer can't handle it!?!? HELP!?!?!

System RAM Minimum: (XP) 1 GB RAM; (Vista) 1.5 GB RAM [If built-in graphics then add 0.5 additional RAM] I Have: 447 MB Video Card Minimum : 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 or above / ATI Radeon 9500 or above / Intel GMA 3-series or above) I Have: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU (GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU) Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of my Video Card Video RAM: Required - 128 MB I Have - 64 MB Video Card 3D Acceleration: Required - Yes I Have - Yes Pixel Shader Ver.: Required - 2.0 I Have - 0.0 Is there ANY wat that I can can get what is needed (not necessarily the highest quality, but minimum) at a decent price?? This is a W3052 Emachines computer, probably from 2001 -- SUPER OLD! Any possible way to get the needed parts for under $150!?!?!?!?!?! :'(

You video card can't handle newer games and that includes The sims 3. The RAM is too low too! The safe bet would be 1G RAM, 512mb graphic card, Core 2 Duo processor then maybe you're good to go. I don't think a machine from 2001 can play any games in 2009. Not even 2005. I think you should just resell your The Sims 3 game unless you want to spend some dollars on a newer machine. Please, just an advice. Don't buy branded computers. Buy assembled computers, you will be saving a lot of money and gaining a lot of power.

It looks like your video card is a bit underpowered, plus your computer memory is pretty low. Both are fairly cheap to upgrade these days, I'd say you can easily upgrade to what's required for less than $150, especially if you're willing to buy used. Try ebay or a discount computer parts supplier.
