through link building and quality content. i think these are two of the best ways to get people to visit your site. i have been maintaining several blogs and from what i experience everyday, people or visitors look for things that interest them so make sure you write only about interesting things or those that matters to you. this is especially true if you are trying to make money online. also, patience is a virtue. you don't get a handful of visitors overnight.

Then, look around the site, participate in a few of the threads, and start a few informational threads of your own. The key is to never mention the site itself, or direct people to visit it.
