help!!!! i want to gain weight......

I saw a topic here in mylot today..... talking about diet..... well me..... i need help because i want to gain weight.... but i do not want to take vitamins.... i want it the natural way.... but i do not want to get so fat either....no offense to the others who want to loose weight.... sigh..... some of my friends.... is kidding me..... saying... "here is my fat take it it is all yours...." hahahaha..... i wish it is just as simple as that.... i am trying to eat more these past few days.... well i have not yet notice any difference..... hmmmm.... do you have any suggestion/s that will help me gain weight?

When I was young and having my three children, I was very thin. My doctor advised me to try to gain 10 lbs. by eating a chocolate shake, as well as what I normally ate each day. Another time when I was underweight he said: You can also add something nutricious like Ensure once or twice a day to your diet. The trick is to try to get more calories, but ones that are healthy. Building up muscle helps, too, as muscle weighs more than fat does, but adds to your good health. Free weights, starting easy, is a good way to build muscle, as are "squats" for the leg and fanny muscles. Make sure you "breathe" when exercising to build muscle, and protect your back by being aware of proper ways to do any exercises. Good luck with this! Karen

hello there peaceulwmn..... i train train students for sthletics... i i jog or even run with them(400meters) hahaha.... i think that would help me build muscle? and i teach the choir in school....hmmmm... that would also help me breathe? hmmmm.... i hope i am on the right track in gaining weight... thank you for the comment and sorry for the late response.... have a nice day ahead of you...

100 meters is better for bulk. After warming up try to run 100 meter all out to get your current best time. Then 3 hard days a week with easy days in between. Hard days I would start 3 times at 85 percent of your best time walking not more than 2 minutes in between. Research sprinter training programs on the web.

well if you wish to gain weight then keep in mind that you don't have to skip meals and breakfast is the most important. have a glass of milk or cornflaks or meusili followed by one or preferably two bananas. keep eating some kind of fruits etc in between meals also. this would help you to gain some weight. anyways don't stop exercising. this would make you plump.

I have never really heard of some wanting to lose weight ... wow lol ... anyways ... getting fat is easy just sit around eating and sticking on the computer ... If you want muscle then that is also fairly easy (with difficulty to others who arnt committed) cuz all you have to do is jog everyday for about 2-3miles or so.

2-3 miles.... wow..... that is really a long jog.... i think i can not do that... but i walk up and down the stairs in school.... and when my students jog i jog along with them.... and i do some stretching.... thank you for the comment... have a nice day ahead of you...

Actually jogging by definition is aerobic exercise and one tends to sculpt a runner's body not a heavy muscular one.

how about you turn to traditional recipe..perhaps its can help you much.. in asian such like indonesia.. they always use traditional recipe to gain or loose weigth.. well its better than vitamin..

Hi there, I would say that if you want to gain weight, you need to start eating foods that are rich in protein. These will therefore increase your muscle amount and help you to look more 'bulky' rather than chubby with any weight you do put on. I would also recommend you do some resistance exercises such as those which make your muscles work - this will also help to bulk you up and give your muscles an attractive tone.

There's really nothing to worry about if your weight is in proportion to your height. As long as you are healthy and you are not malnourished, I don't think there's any use for you to wish to gain weight especially if you adapt the ways that led others to being fat like being a couch potato, or living a sedentary lifestyle. Those aren't healthy. And there's nothing unnatural about taking vitamins. They are even good for you. If what you mean by vitamins are those supplements with unsure sources, or medicines which promise to make you gain weight but you are skeptical about them then avoid it. Just eat healthy and eat enough. You might even want to have yourself checked. Some diseases can lead to poor weight gain despite a good or voracious appetite such as thyroid problems.

hello there theresa..... you say thyroid problem????? oh...... i talk often.... and sometimes i do experience sore throat, infection, and tonsillitis.... and we have history of cancer in the nasal cavity.... hmmmm..... i really need to see a doctor....thank you for the comment.... have a nice day ahead of you....

Of all the options that you have before you, please don't choose to eat crap and turn into a couch potato, just to gain weight. Take the responsible option and ensure two things: that you eat a proper diet and that you partake of regular exercise. The proper diet is simply to ensure that you take your carbohydrates, your proteins, your vegetables and lots of fruit and stay away from the processed stuff (stick to brown bread, unpolished rice, whole wheat spaghetti, fresh vegetables etc). Exercise doesn't need to be strenuous but it should be regular and meaningful (at least 30 minutes of solid walking per day). In addition to this, take a reputable multi-vitamin every day - we all need it. If you are doing these thing, you will be healthy and should feel it. Your appetite should also be healthy. If you never the less still want to gain weight, just add extra calories above your good diet, but preferably from healthy sources such as nuts - lots of calories but also full of goodness and good fats. Walnuts, pecans, peanuts... Ever heard of good fats - look it up on the net, usually referred to as Omega 3 and 6 fats. Really, these fats are actually good for you...

All the fat people reading must have a smug look on their face. Umm, not really hard man, or women, whatever you are. Just eats lots of meats, lift some weights with short breaks and 6 months lata, you look like a new and heavier person.

Oh no, other one who want to gain weight? You know how hard is it to keep fit? I have to watch every food that i eat, i have to keep exercises so that i won't gain weight. And you are asking to gain weight, i can gain weight if i gave up every effects that i do now. But seriously, if you want to gain weight, better go ask a doctor for expert advice. Good luck!

bread, rice pudding, bread pudding, mc donalds big macs, really anything white, potato's etc, carbs turn to sugar, sugar turns to fat... your probably still young and your metabolism is still cranking, wait till you turn 40 things start slowing down,. i really dont know of any healthy food to gain weight justeat alot of starches.

i am already 30. my metabolism is fast.... maybe that is one of the reason i do not get fat.... and another in... my work... i sometimes train athletics.... so i jog or run with them sometimes... thank you for the comment and suggestion... sorry for the late response... have a nice day ahead of you...

I hardly gain weight but when I do it's either because I don't care or I'm depressed. It's actually very easy. Eat steak, burgers, lots of cheese to nibble, chocolate milk with marshmallows, chips and salsa, mcdonald's french fries, pasta or steam rice, california rolls, pancakes with lots of maple syrup, bananas...oh and don't forget ice cream with hot choco fudge and then after eating take a good 40 minute nap. Ok I just want to make it clear that I'm not telling you to eat all this in one day. LOL You're not going to notice it soon but these are foods that are hard to digest. Try it for a month and you'll notice a big difference. I have a very good metabolism and it will kill me first before I get fat. I gain weight whenever I want to but i never get fat. Mind you though there is no way anyone will gain weight without the kinds of food I mentioned. They are NOT very healthy foods to eat. Maybe you should eat them in moderation or if you want to gain weight with muscles rather than fat, you need to do some regular exercise before or after each meal. I say don't worry about your weight. It's a lot easier to gain weight than lose some. Goodluck though.

Eat more and more , drink coca as water , you will gain weight , but it is not good for your health . In my opinion , slim is a beauty . In my city , people love slim girls or boys very much .

i do not want to get very fat...no offense to others.... all i want is to gain a little weight... so i can also wear clothes that i like.... because some of my clothes are found in women section.... it is in TEEN section....hahahaha.... although looking young is much better but that too young... thank you for the comment and sorry for the late response... have a nice day ahead of you...

Do you want muscle or fat? Muscle comes from exercise, there are special ones for each area. Fat comes from eating more calories than you use, if you have a fast metabolsim you need to eat things that take longer to digest, whole grains and beans. So depending on what you want you need to study what your will have to do to get there, the Internet has a lot of information. Just make sure you don't fall for the scams, read the studies and information from the Medical school sources.

Hello there bhabytart! Good day to you! Well gaining weight is for me far more easy than losing weight. You just eat whatever you want and sleep how long you want! Gaining weight is much more enjoyable than losing weight my friend. Taking vitamins helps a lot why not take vitamins? Just provide yourself a sedentary lifestyle and eat a lot and sleep alot but it may affect your health. You can eat a high protein diet and eat lots of fruits for you to gain weight in a healthy manner. Good luck to you bhabytart in your weight gaining activity! :)

u better try Yoga, its very good way to gain or lose weight, its traditional Indian way, you can get its way of doing online if you search or if you have any Indain freind, you can ask him/her to send you...its really very helpful and it gives you a lot of positive attitude too

Hi! I used to have that problem, but not anymore! I used to drink lots of milkshakes and eat cake. Don't forget your healthy foods, tho, and still try some exercise...it's still good for your body, just don't overdo it. Also, but some of those nutrition drinks, like Boost or Ensure...they've got the calories and the vitamins and minerals, too. Good luck in gaining!!! (I'd like to give you 10 of my pounds if I could LOL!)

Since you want to gain non-fat weight that leaves muscle. If you stop an exercise for over 3 days your body starts to reduce muscle tissue. Honest. You have to exercise the muscles that you want to enlarge. As a rule, males can put on muscle easier than most women. Then one must account your genes. Your profile shows the Philippines, and the majority tend to run lean due to your genes... Anyway, your body cannot make at least 2 of the 20 amino acids that makes up proteins, including muscle. So, exercise with a low protein diet will NOT bulk you up. And Protein is the most expensive kind of food. You need to increase you caloric intake of protein combined with exercise. To bulk up anaerobic exercise is best, like weight lifting or sprinting, maybe bicycling if you push very hard. Of course in your tropical climate that means that you will sweat profusely. Eating deep leafy green veggies can be good nourishment. I have friends that eat the different colors of veggies, daily..
